Patriots defensive coordinator Terrell Williams misses 1st day of rookie minicamp with medical issue

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — New England Patriots defensive coordinator Terrell Williams was not with the team for rookie minicamp Friday because of a medical condition, coach Mike Vrabel said.

Vrabel did not disclose the nature of Williams’ condition but said he was eager to return to work. Inside linebackers coach Zak Kuhr is handling Williams’ duty in his absence.

Williams has been in contact with players and the coaching staff on Zoom.

Vrabel hired Williams shortly after he was named Patriots’ coach in January. Williams spent six years on Vrabel’s staff with the Tennessee Titans.
