Clark takes Indiana teammate Boston No. 1 in WNBA All-Star Game draft. Collier picks Stewart

By Canadian Press on July 8, 2025.

NEW YORK (AP) — Caitlin Clark picked Indiana teammate Aliyah Boston No. 1 while Napheesa Collier took her Unrivaled business partner Breanna Stewart first in the WNBA All-Star Game draft on Tuesday.

Clark, who had the first overall pick by being No. 1 in the fan vote, had said Monday there was “a high chance” that Boston and Kelsey Mitchell of the Fever would be on her team.

Collier and Stewart, who were college teammates at UConn, started the 3-on-3 league Unrivaled this past winter.

The other starters that team captains Clark and Collier will choose from include rookie Paige Bueckers, Sabrina Ionescu, Allisha Gray, Satou Sabally and Nneka Ogwumike.

Collier will get first pick of the reserves. Her teammate, Courtney Williams, is among the 12 players that were chosen by the league’s 13 coaches.

Other All-Stars include first-timers Kayla Thornton, Gabby Williams and Washington rookies Kiki Iriafen and Sonia Citron. It’s the first time there are three rookies in the All-Star Game since 2011.

Seattle’s Skylar Diggins, Phoenix’s Alyssa Thomas, Atlanta’s Rhyne Howard, Los Angeles’ Kelsey Plum, Las Vegas’ Jackie Young and Chicago’s Angel Reese round out the players.

The game will be played on July 19 in Indianapolis.
