AMSTERDAM (AP) — Memphis Depay, the all-time leading scorer for the Netherlands, will be late joining up with the squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers due to a passport problem.
Coach Ronald Koeman told a news conference Monday that Depay couldn’t travel because his passport was missing.
Koeman said the 31-year-old Corinthians forward would join the squad once he gets proper documentation to replace his passport.
Some media reports have said Depay’s passport was stolen in Brazil.
Koeman’s team visit Malta on Thursday and host Finland on Sunday.
