Baseball fans and collectors have a chance to get their hands on various used items from this year’s World Series.
Major League Baseball is auctioning off several collectibles, from balls to base plates, locker tags and jerseys from the series which saw the Los Angeles Dodgers repeat as champions after beating the Toronto Blue Jays in seven games.
The most expensive item was a ball used for Dodgers two-way star Shohei Ohtani’s first World Series strikeout, when he got Toronto Blue Jays Vladimir Guerrero Jr. swinging in the first inning of Game 4.
The high bid as of Tuesday afternoon was listed at US$111,950 (C$157,808).
The next most expensive item was the first base used from the seventh to 11th innings of Game 7. The Dodgers hit three solo home runs over that span to turn a 4-2 deficit into a 5-4 victory.
Auctions close as early as Nov. 4 at 8 p.m. for some items. Other listings will close on Nov. 9 at 8 p.m. Bids can be made online at auctions.mlb.com.
