By Canadian Press on November 18, 2025.

NAPIER, New Zealand (AP) — New Zealand won the toss and will bowl Wednesday in the second one-day international against the West Indies which was reduced by rain to 34 overs per side.

The toss was delayed for three hours by persistent showers and the outfield at McLean Park is likely to be slippery at first.

New Zealand leads the three-match series 1-0 after winning the first match at Christchurch by seven runs.

First match century-maker Daryl Mitchell has a groin injury and his place in the New Zealand team has been taken by Mark Chapman. Blair Tickner and Nathan Smith replace Zak Foulkes and Jacob Duffy in New Zealand’s pace attack.

The West Indies made one change, naming Ackeem Auguste in place of Alick Athenaze.
