New England Patriots were the top Proline NFL playoff betting choice

By Canadian Press on January 15, 2026.

The New England Patriots were the top choice of Proline bettors in the opening round of the NFL playoffs.

New England advanced to the divisional round with a 16-3 win over the San Diego Chargers on Sunday night. According to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp., 70 per cent of Proline bettors backed the Patriots’ victory.

Another 59 per cent had the Patriots on the spread (-3.5 points) while 23 per cent had the under at 45.5 points.

Sixty-nine per cent of players backed the Los Angeles Rams over the Carolina Panthers 34-31 and Buffalo Bills dispatching the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-24. And 67 per cent of bettors had the Chicago Bears rallying to beat the Green Bay Packers 31-27.

But just 44 per cent of bettors backed San Francisco in its 23-19 victory over the defending-champion Philadelphia Eagles while 56 per cent supported the Houston Texans’ 30-6 victory Monday night over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

However, 63 per cent of players had the 49ers on the +5.5-point spread while 69 per cent correctly had the Texans on the spread at -2.5.

Not surprisingly, the top-five events last week were all NFL playoff games. The Bills-Jaguars contest was first, followed by Texans-Steelers, Chargers-Patriots, 49ers-Eagles and Packers-Bears.

A digital play won $5,318.15 off a $1 bet on a 12-pick NHL parlay while another turned a $2 wager into a $2,396.13 payoff with a 10-pick parlay. A retail player earned $2,240.30 from a $1 bet on a 12 pick parlay
