NEW YORK — Buffalo Sabres centre Tage Thompson, Nashville Predators defenceman Roman Josi and Utah Mammoth goaltender Karel Vejmelka are the NHL’s three stars of the week.
Thompson led the NHL with nine points (three goals, six assists) in four games.
His week was highlighted by his third career five-point performance (three goals, two assists) in a 5-3 win over visiting Montreal on Thursday.
Josi had seven points (two goals, five assists) in three games as the Predators moved within a point of the Western Conference’s second wild-card spot.
Vejmelka went 3-0-0 with a 1.67 goals-against average and .926 save percentage as the Mammoth moved into the first wild-card spot in the Western Conference.
Thompson (United States), Josi (Switzerland) and Vejmelka (Czechia) are all set to appear at next month’s Milan Cortina Olympics.
