ERNEST EMERY (PETE) ALLEN
MARCH 27, 1919 ~ AUGUST 19, 2013
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ernest (Pete) Allen at the age of 94 years.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of almost 71 years, Helen Allen, his sons: Deloy (Carolyn) Allen, Delerith “Pork” (Martha) Allen and Don (Nancy) Allen; as well as his grandchildren: Doug Allen (Suzanne), Dawn Marie (Ian) Cant, Brad (Jen) Hansen, Darren (Tracy) Allen, and Corrie (Ken) Forbes. Ernest also was blessed with 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren as well as bonus grandchildren Jason (Lisa) Jaffary, Jocelyn (Cory) Horvath, Troy (Jill) Hatfield, and Trevor (Kristi) Hatfield. Ernest was predeceased by his parents Ernie and Jessie Allen, his son Dwayne Thomas Allen and granddaughter Debra Torgunrud.
Pete was born and raised in Bow Island where he met and married Helen Marie Fritz of Foremost, AB. They were blessed with 4 sons before moving to Lethbridge to continue his career as a heavy duty mechanic, working for D. McLeod & Son and then R.H. International Harvester. He finished his career as the shop mechanic working for his sons at D.A. Electric before retiring in 1984. Pete and Helen travelled in the early years of their retirement to Hawaii, California, Arizona and to visit numerous relatives and friends in North Dakota. They never missed a family celebration! As the two aged they moved into an assisted living facility. Pete became an amazing caregiver to Helen while keeping his fantastic sense of humor. The nursing staff would always comment how they too loved our Popsie.

GSCHAID
Angieline “Angie” Gloria Gschaid passed away peacefully with her family at her side at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Centre on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at the age of 64 years.
Angie grew up in the Picture Butte area and received her education at St. Catherine’s School. She moved to Wilcox, Sask. where she graduated from the Notre Dame College in 1968.
Following her graduation, Angie travelled with her granny (“Bubie”) to Europe, where they had a memorable trip.
Upon her return from that trip, Angie entered SAIT in Calgary where she completed her LPN Training (Licensed Practical Nurse). She then worked at St. Michael’s Hospital on both surgical and medical units.
In June 1972 Angie married Ronald Gschaid and they together had two children Rodney James and Jennifer Renae.
Angie continued working in the different areas of nursing until 1978. She returned back to her studies and received her Registered Nurse Diploma in 1980 from the Lethbridge Community College. During the summer months she attended university gathering courses towards her nursing degree.
Angie’s “Bubie” was a very big part of her and her children’s life. They spent a lot of quality time together, both “loving each moment”. You would often hear Angie say “I miss my ‘Bubie’ so much”.
After receiving her R.N. degree, Angie continued working in the clinical and surgical areas, CSR (Central Processing Room), clinical nursing, homecare, and dialysis.
Angie also did Insurance Medicals for various companies in and out of the city. The agents would request her as again, her personality preceded her.
Another deep love Angie had was slow-pitch and she played for the hospital teams for several years. Golfing, skiing, and having a glass of wine with her friends brought her great joy, laughs and love.
Angie is survived by her two children; Rodney James Gschaid (Bobbie Geo) of Lethbridge and Jennifer Renae Marsh (Brad Hansen) of Lethbridge; Grandson Rylan James, granddaughter Madison Angelina; mother Olga Kleist of St. Albert, sister Sandra Bruinsma (Theo); several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
She was predeceased by her granny Mary Chervenka, Grandfather Walter Chervenka, stepfather Norman Kleist, father Tom Joss, as well as numerous other relatives.
The family would like to thank all the nurses, doctors and staff for all their care and compassion given to our mom, we truly appreciated all you did.

“In the journey of life you try to teach your children the importance of values, the difference between right and wrong and hopefully they can learn from the stumbles and falls we made.
In saying that we also learn from our children that is a caring treasure for each of us.
I’ve learned patience, love, hope, faith, and courage. And out of those came that feeling of “Proudness”.
They both have made me very proud of them and I’m sure that their dad would agree with me.
That alone is the most precious treasure that life can hold.”
– Love Mom

NASH
JANE ELIZABETH NASH, beloved wife of John Nash and mother of Joseph Wannop passed away peacefully in Lethbridge on Sunday, August 18, 2013.
Jane was born December 27, 1962 in High River, youngest daughter of Lawrence and Hazel Wannop of Nanton.
She is survived by her husband, John; her son, Joseph; her brothers: Alan (Barbara), David (Lourdes) and Donald (Dawnetta) and sisters: Jo-Ann (Donald) Peach, Marie (Dennis) Mertz, Linda Sue Wannop, Carol (Chris) Avery, Patricia (Daniel) Reid, and Roberta (Chris) Norton, over 30 nieces and nephews, many other relatives and her dear friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, her brother George, and an infant son, James.
If you had to use one word to describe Jane it would be ‘generosity’. Many of us have been on the receiving end of her baking, babysitting and the produce from her gardens. A corn bust at her home was an annual event for many years.
If Jane ever met you, she counted you her friend.
Jane’s greatest desire was to be a wife and mother. When Joseph was born weighing just over 2 pounds, she thought that might be taken from her again, but he grew and thrived and became the joy of her life.
When she met John and they were married in 2004, she felt all her dreams had finally come true. They had 9 wonderful years together.
She will be missed.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, RAYMOND STAKE CENTRE, 2N 200 W, Raymond, AB, with Bishop Brian Freeze officiating.
Friends may meet the family prior to the service only from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. at the church.
Interment to follow at the Nanton Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
Donations in Jane’s honor may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Kidney Foundation of Canada, or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
It was Jane’s request, and due to severe allergies, a scent free service will be held and floral tributes are respectfully declined.
