Virtual Volunteering … what is it? Virtual volunteering is volunteering that is done from the comfort and safety of your own home with the support of the organization you are volunteering for. All you need is a computer, tablet, or smartphone and an internet connection. It is an excellent way to stay connected with our community and contribute your time and skills to an organization in need.

Nonprofit/

charitable organizations, in a time of social and physical distancing, consider if your organization has opportunities to engage virtual volunteers. During COVID-19 many organizations have been forced to re-examine their volunteer programs. Physical volunteers will always be required for many organizations, but many opportunities can be created for a volunteer to work remotely. Volunteers could assist with grant writing, editing and creating videos, designing a new website, data entry, creating spreadsheets… the opportunities are endless. Volunteers, if there is a specific organization you are interested in, check their website for a listing of opportunities and see if they have any virtual volunteering, or call them and let them know your skill set and see how you might be able to assist them remotely.
