Leave food donations out for Target Hunger

By Jensen, Randy on June 13, 2020.

LETHBRIDGE HERALD

The annual Target Hunger campaign takes place today and local food banks would like to remind Lethbridge citizens to place their Target Hunger donations outside at the front door for pickup this morning.

Target Hunger is a city-wide food drive that will help to restock the shelves at both the Interfaith Food Bank and the Lethbridge Food Bank.

Gather your food donations in a bag or box, mark them with a “TH” and leave your donation on your doorstep for pick up on by 10 a.m. this morning as volunteers will attempt to pick up the bags between 10 a.m. and noon.

Every household is encouraged to participate in Target Hunger and to join us in trying to raise 100,000 pounds of food for our local food banks. Last year more than 42,000 pounds of food was raised.

If by some oversight your donation is missed on pickup, or you forget to put it out on time, you can drop off your donation at either food bank, or your neighborhood grocery store! Participating locations include: Canada Safeway (Fairmont); Save-On Foods (North and West); Sobeys Uplands; Real Canadian Superstore and Real Canadian Wholesale Club; Troy’s No Frills; Simon’s No Frills; and Cornerstone Funeral Home.

Financial contributions will also be accepted online, just visit either food bank website to give via Canadahelps.org.
