Three charged in CST, ALERT operation

Lethbridge Police charged a male and two females with drug offences following a vehicle stop and the execution of search warrants at homes in the city and in Raymond.

Last Thursday, following a short-term investigation into suspected drug activity, police conducted a vehicle stop along the 1900 block of 2 Avenue North. A male driver and female passenger were arrested without incident. Search warrants were also executed at a home along Stafford Road North and, with assistance from ALERT and County Community Peace Officers, along 300E Street in Raymond.

A female at the Stafford Drive home was arrested in possession of a small quantity of methamphetamine and it was learned the male subject had recently been evicted from the property in Raymond and no longer resided there. In total, police seized methamphetamine, fentanyl and cocaine worth more than $2,600, drug paraphernalia, $3,200 cash and a BMW 528 Xi.

Andrew Glenn Whiteford, 30, of Raymond, is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance and possession of the proceeds of crime. Whiteford was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 25.

Abby Gail Girard, 40, of Lethbridge is charged with possession of a controlled substance. Girard was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 25.

Sarah Jean Smith, 35, of Claresholm, is charged with possession of a controlled substance. Smith was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 10.
