McDonald’s reopens after employee tests positive

By Jensen, Randy on July 25, 2020.

LETHBRIDGE HERALD

The McDonald’s located at 444 Mayor Magrath Drive North briefly closed, but has since reopened after a thorough cleaning, after an employee reported they tested positive for COVID-19.

Following the employee’s report on Thursday, out of an abundance of caution, McDonald’s Canada made the decision to immediately shut down the restaurant for a thorough cleaning and sanitation by a certified third party.

All crew members who may have been in close contact with the employee have been asked to self-quarantine until further information is available.

The employee worked their last shift on July 18 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

For any guests who may have visited the restaurant on July 18, they are asked to take directions from the experts at Alberta Health Services by visiting their website at https://www.albertahealthservices.ca/.

McDonald’s said it is continuing to work with Alberta Health Services to support its people and guests.
