COVID-19 identified at Chinook High School

By Herald on September 9, 2020.

Update: AHS indicated Wednesday evening there is now a second case at the school

Lethbridge Herald

In an letter from the Lethbridge School Division sent to staff and community members, Chinook High School indicated they have recently been notified by Alberta Health Services of one case of COVID-19 identified at the school.
It does not specify whether the case is a student or staff member.
AHS Public Health and the school are working together to ensure timely and accurate contact tracing. Close contacts will be called and instructed to quarantine for at least 14 days. Public Health also has provided recommendations to the school about cleaning measures and other control measures to reduce the risk of further transmission.
The letter states if parents or guardians are not contacted, then their child is not a close contact and can attend school as usual following all public health guidance.
The school remains open for staff to attend work today and are reminded to monitor for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 using the Alberta Health Screening Questionnaire.
The school division says they have directed our custodial services team to conduct enhanced cleaning protocols, focusing on areas where the individual was present along with high touch areas and surfaces throughout the facility.

I am disappointed that the Minister of Children’s services is not protecting the children; I believe the children are being endangered and are at risk, I guess she’s too concerned about her paycheck.
