Murder suspect back in court in December

A 30-year-old man arrested in March after being sought on a Canada-wide warrant in connection with the city’s first murder of 2020 will be back in court next month.
Mohamud Omar Dhiblawe of TorontoÊwas in Lethbridge provincial court Thursday but his matter was adjourned to Dec. 17.ÊThe accused was arrested March 6 following an unrelated drug search warrant at a residence in Regina, Sask.
Dhiblawe, who was returned to Alberta shortly after his arrest, is charged with one count of second-degree murder in connection with the death of a 35-year-old man in early February in Lethbridge. HeÕs also charged in connection with a homicide in Edmonton.
On Feb. 6, just after 10:30 p.m. police responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 200 block of University Drive West. Officers found the body of a 35-year-old man inside the home. The body was transported to the Calgary medical examinerÕs office where an autopsy confirmed the death was a homicide. The identity of the victim has not been released.
A police Investigation determined the parties involved were known to one another, and followingÊ a verbal dispute involving drugs, the victim was fatally shot.
