Police have charged a man with numerous drug and weapons offences as a result of a lengthy surveillance operation.
Members of the Crime Suppression Team began a file in September on a suspected drug trafficking operation. Police say surveillance was conducted and numerous interactions consistent with drug trafficking were observed in relation to a home in the 500-block of 26 Street South.
On Thursday police made an arrest and a search warrant resulted in the seizure of items including more than $20,500 in cash, a Taser, brass knuckles and bear spray. There was also more than $30,000 in drugs seized including quantities of Xanax, Oxycocet, Oxycodone, cocaine, MDMA, ketamine and marijuana.
Christopher Jackson, 39, faces charges including four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking; possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling; possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000; two counts of unauthorized possession of prohibited weapons; two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon obtained by commission of offence; possession of an identity document; and possession of property obtained by crime.
Jackson was released from custody to appear in court Feb. 5.
