Blood Tribe Police have made an arrest following an alleged social media post which contained threats to the lives of police officers and their families.

Police say they became aware of a video Wednesday on Facebook in which they say a man stated he would execute police officers and their families if they attempted to arrest him. Police say they learned the man was in Standoff but not a nation member.

Patrick Rodney, 32, of Lethbridge, was located on the Blood Tribe and arrested and charged for Uttering Threats to Cause Death and Trespassing on the Blood Reserve.

He was released on an undertaking with conditions not to be on the Blood Reserve and attend Cardston Provincial Court in March.

Anyone with information about this matter or any other matter is asked to contact the Blood Tribe Police Service at 403-737-3800 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

The Blood Tribe Police Service would like to remind individuals visiting the Blood Tribe to report to the Blood Tribe Administration Office in Standoff immediately and obtain the proper permits before going about their business. Those who are simply traveling through and not stopping, are not required to obtain a permit.
