Update:

Lethbridge police have charged a 33-year-old B.C. man in connection with the robbery of a senior at a northside business over the weekend.

While in the area on an unrelated manner, police observed three men in an alley in the 1200-block of 2A Ave North around 7:50 p.m. on Monday.  One of them was recognized as a suspect in the robbery of an 81-year-old man the day previous.

Codty Pearce-Gray of Sparwood has been charged with robbery. He has been released from custody to appear in court June 1, 2021.

Lethbridge police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a robbery of an 81-year-old man at a business over the weekend.

Police say a man walked into a business in the 500-block of 13 Street North about 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, grabbed cash the senior had placed on the counter to pay for his purchase, and pushed him aside. The victim followed the man out of the store and to a blue-coloured Ford Escape parked outside.

Police say the victim reached into the open window of the vehicle in an attempt to get his money back.  The driver put the vehicle into reverse and a witness managed to pull the victim away so he wouldn’t be hurt. The victim also lost his ring and suffered a small cut on his hand in the process, but didn’t require medical attention.

The vehicle fled the scene and was later discovered abandoned in the 2000-block of 1 Avenue North.

An image of the suspect was taken off video footage from the business security camera. If you can identify the man, contact police at 403-328-4444 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

No charge for a stolen vehicle? (Who abandons their own vehicle?)

No charge on reversing the SUV while the victim was reaching inside the vehicle? (Didn’t a Calgary cop just die in a similar incident?)

What if the victim was your grandfather? The victims grandkids should be allowed to beat the hell out of this waste of skin Codty..

Not only a loser but also a moron.. committing a crime on camera without wearing a mask during a pandemic!
