Fireworks celebration set for Friday night

By Lethbridge Herald on July 6, 2021.

The Lethbridge and District Exhibition will be lighting up the night to celebrate Alberta’s resilience and determination.
The free fireworks display will be held this Friday evening in conjunction with other displays put on by Bell’s Fireworks Spectacular in Red Deer, Edmonton and Calgary. The 14-minute fireworks display will occur simultaneously in all four participating cities to a synchronized musical soundtrack.
According to a media release from Exhibition Park, the public can watch the show for free from the Exhibition Park Grandstand at Rocky Mountain Turf Club. The Grandstand will open at 9:00 p.m. Seating will be limited and will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Bully’s Casino will be running features all night and there will be food vendors throughout the grounds.
Additional viewing will be provided from the parking lot of Exhibition Park, however space will be limited due to the event setup of the Smoke, Wind & Fire BBQ Competition.
The fireworks will also be broadcast live on CTV beginning at 11:00 p.m.
The event is intended as a “recognition of our shared goals and bright future for our province.” It will also serve as a kick-off celebration for the Calgary Stampede.
