Lethbridge Curling Club celebrates 125 years

By Dale Woodard on September 18, 2021.

The Lethbridge Curling Club is ready to rock a special event on Saturday.
The club on the west side will light the candles and celebrate its 125th anniversary with a come-and-go format from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and an official cake cutting at 2 p.m.
Past and current members are welcome and those looking to get into the hack and figure out if the pebbled ice sport is for them are also welcome to stop by.
“We’re looking at it as an opportunity for our members to come back and see us and have an opportunity to have some coffee and cake,” said Lethbridge Curling Club manager Kirk Mearns. “Hopefully some new people who have wondered about curling and the curling club and just what’s going on, we hope we get a whole bunch of people who are curious to come out and have a look and snoop around the place. We’ll even get them to throw a rock if they want to do that.”
The day will feature Rocks and Rings for kids and a Try Curling program with a chance to draw to the button.
Information about the Learn To Curl Clinics will be provided as well as Junior Program reps on hand to answer any questions.
Saturday’s open house will even have “Speed dating for curlers” for curlers looking to join a team in addition to club tours and how the curling club ice is made.
There will also be volunteer sign up information for the 2022 Tim Hortons Brier, which is coming to Lethbridge March 4-13 of next year.

But Saturday will be just as much about celebrating the past.
“When you look at 125 years here and how the curling club has grown with this community and all of the things we’ve meant to the community and the community has meant to us, it’s really special when you realize how integral the community and the Lethbridge Curling Club has been,” said Mearns.

Hello, a huge congratulations to Lethbridge Curling Club. I want to know will you celebrate its 125th anniversary online too. I really want to see it. Please let me know if you do celebrate it online. Until then I will search for casino gambling games online. Because I am getting bored at home and I want to earn some money online.
