Adjustments are being made to the new cityLINK transit system which council last week voted to make permanent.
The changes being made to the service come into effect today.
They include:
• Demand Response Zone 103 will service the Lethbridge Airport and Prairie Arbour estates.
• Demand Response Zone 103 will now end at 20 Avenue South.
• Extensions of the Gold and Blue line will replace the Purple line.
• Gold line will expand to cover north end of the previous Purple line.
• Blue line will expand to cover south end of the previous Purple line.
• 3 Green line will deviate off Mayor Magrath Drive onto 9 Avenue and 10 Avenue South for service to the Chinook Regional Hospital.
• 4 Orange line has been expanded to service the Lakeview area.
• Demand Response Zone 104 will include the North station as a pickup/drop off location.
As part of its mandate, cityLINK will be making quarterly adjustments to reflect feedback, changing travel patterns and metric indicators.
A report submitted to council shows on-time performance has improved by 26.07 per cent while ridership is up 65.73 per cent since cityLINK was introduced in August.
There is a 28.44 per cent reduction in transfers and in terms of efficiency, there is a 74.25 per cent improvement in customers per revenue hour.
