The Cor Van Raay YMCA is within range of hitting pre-pandemic membership numbers after reaching more than 10,100 total members in May.
On May 1 the YMCA of Lethbridge launched a membership campaign called “Race to 10K”. The Race to 10K celebrated current and new members of the YMCA community.Â
“We are excited to announce that we hit our goal of reaching 10,000 members in May 2022,” said Debra LeBlanc, YMCA of Lethbridge’s membership and rentals manager, in a statement. “There are more people than ever using the YMCA as their place to live a healthier lifestyle.” Â
In celebration of Race to 10K, the YMCA of Lethbridge offered is largest giveaway to date. Throughout May, members new and current had the opportunity to be entered to win one of 53 prizes, including one of two, one-year Plus Family Memberships worth more than $2,250.
“It has been so great to see the families pick up their prizes” said Gerty Jean-Baptiste, a YMCA of Lethbridge membership representative, in a release. “The combination of new and existing families using the facility each day has been exciting and the energy is infectious.”
Reaching more than 10,000 members places the YMCA of Lethbridge within a few hundred of their pre-pandemic numbers and marks one of the largest returns of membership for YMCA’s across Canada.
“Hitting 10,000 members shows us how far we have come since the pandemic. We are on track to continue growing and supporting the community,” said LeBlanc. “We know the positive impact the YMCA can have in a community and increasing memberships pushes us to continue providing new programs and offerings.”Â
