Lethbridge e-riders can now easily locate their nearest available e-scooters and e-bikes with the help of Google Maps thanks to a Neuron Mobility and Google Maps integration.
Regional manager and head of market for Neuron Canada, Ankush Karwal, said they are excited to be able to launch the integration in Lethbridge.
“This integration is designed to give them more information at their fingertips,” said Karwal.
The service provides directions and information on how long it will take them to reach their destination, calculates price estimates based on the selected route, and provides the device battery range and expected arrival time at their destination.
“After selecting an e-scooter or e-bike on the map, users will be redirected to the Neuron app for unlocking and payment to start their trip,” said Karwal.
He said while the integration makes it more convenient for riders, it is not necessary to plan a route through Google Maps to enjoy a ride.
“If you just want to go for a ride around town and just explore the city you can get onto the Neuron app directly and just start,” said Karwal.
The integration is available to Google Maps users across 25 Neuron cities worldwide including Vernon, Calgary, Lethbridge, Red Deer and Ottawa in Canada, with more to follow later in the year.
Karwal said it has been great providing Lethbridge residents with the ability to ride in a safe way and providing them with transportation alternatives.
Across the country, rider data has shown that 46 per cent of Neuron trips have already directly replaced a car journey, saving an estimated 120 tonnes of CO2 emissions and over 50,000 litres of gasoline.
