Online Christmas market supporting Logan Boulet Endowment Fund

By Justin Seward - Lethbridge Herald on November 11, 2022.

Herald photo by Justin Seward Toby Boulet displays a couple of the Logan Boulet items that are currently available in the online Christmas Market.

An online Christmas Market selling apparel reflecting local fallen hockey player Logan Boulet is set to raise funds to help support the community.

“We did the first one with Marty Baceda and Kurtis Hawkins at Players Bench, three-and-a half years ago (and) said let’s do this,” said Toby Boulet, Logan’s father. “It went really well and then in the meantime, three-and-a-half-years later, clothes get wore out, kids get bigger. We had lots of people say, ‘Hey can you do the store again, can you have it happen…’ So I contacted Marty and said, ‘Yeah, we’re in.’ So they set it up and a way we go.”

Toby said it’s a nice thing to do for the Christmas season.

“It’s not like Logan all over it,” said Toby. “It’s got three of the t-shirts have little sayings on it that reflect Logan.”

People have the option of purchasing Humboldt Strong-related hoodies and t-shirts of sayings including, “Work Hard. Play Hard. Have Fun” “Happy to Help” and “Tell Someone They Matter.”

LB27 gear is also available and the apparel comes with Boulet’s autograph on it.

It was every time that Logan went to play rugby, hockey or anything else that his mom, Bernadine, would tell him to Work Hard. Play Hard. Have Fun.

“It’s a slogan Bernadine said for years,” said Toby. “And Logan would go out of the way to make someone’s day. Like we’re not all angels and Logan wasn’t always an angel either, let’s not kid ourselves. But he would try hard to make people feel good and say positive things and be positive. No sense in dragging people down and so we have a shirt that says, ‘Tell Someone They Matter,’ and another one says, ‘Happy to Help.’ Logan was like our neighbour, it didn’t matter where it was, need help, call Logan.”

Toby said it means a lot that people want to wear Logan’s stuff.

All proceeds from the clothing purchase goes to the Logan Boulet Endowment Fund at the Community Foundation of Lethbridge.

Purchases can be made until Nov. 16 at http://www.teamsites.ca/lb27.
