Lethbridge College students and alumni will have an opportunity to mingle with more than 80 southern Alberta employees during the college’s annual career fair on Thursday.

In a recent press release vice president research and partnerships and interim vice president academic, Kenny Corscadden said they are seeing a strong interest from employers who want to connect with the college’s students before they graduate.

“Not only is Thursday’s career fair an excellent opportunity for students to network, it’s also a great chance for employers to build relationships and encourage graduates to continue living and working in southern Alberta,” said Corscadden.

Current students and college alumni will have the opportunity to explore summer jobs or career options, ask questions of employers and distribute resumes.

Employers will also have opportunities throughout the day to conduct on-the-spot interviews with potential candidates.

The career fair will also provide attendees with the opportunity to learn through three panel sessions taking place at The Cave.

• Life after LC: Lethbridge College alumni will speak about their career journeys after graduation. Alumni panelists will answer questions about their transition from school to the workforce and share how they prepared to make that transition.

• Career Conversations: Local employers will discuss how to make a good first impression, share what they are looking for in a candidate’s resume and give advice on how to ace an interview.

• Leveraging Work-Integrated Learning to Propel your Career: Attendees will hear about work-integrated learning and how it can advance a student’s education and career prospects while they are still in school. Instructors, students and employers will be on hand to talk about their experiences and the benefits of integrating meaningful work experiences.

The career fair will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 8 in the Val Matteotti Gymnasium A and in Centre Core.
