A southern Alberta woman charged in 2022 with dangerous driving causing death is set to stand trial later this year.

The charge stems from an incident on Sept. 7, 2022 when a minivan westbound on Highway 3 approached the intersection at Coalhurst. The vehicle drifted toward the turning lane, and without slowing struck the concrete median at the intersection, a stop sign and a vehicle that was stopped while waiting to turn onto Highway 3.

The driver of the stopped vehicle was instantly killed.

The matter was in Lethbridge court of justice Friday, where defence said a pre-trial conference was held last month, during which trial issues were discussed and the trial was scheduled for Oct. 3, 4 and 15.
