With comics and everything nerdy and geeky available, lovers of collectables will have an opportunity to enjoy the Lethbridge Entertainment & Collector Expo at the Agri-Food Hub and Trade Centre this weekend.
Event coordinator Autumn Fowler says there is something for everyone to enjoy at the family event.
“We have everything from cosplay and prizes for cosplay,” Fowler says. “We have food, we have vendors, we have artist alley. We have a whole section in the middle for kids and games.”
Fowler says they are trying hard to bring a breath of life to Lethbridge and she believes this is something residents have been needing for some time.
“We’re excited to bring something of this magnitude to Lethbridge. This is actually our first time putting on this specific event and bringing something of this size to Lethbridge.”
She says they are hoping the event will take off and become a long-term event.
“We have about 160 vendors and we’re expecting over 8,000 people to be here, and that’s a lowball.”
People will have an opportunity to meet four celebrities, two of them from popular television shows and two voice actors.
Actor Charles Baker who played Skinny Pete in Breaking Bad and Leslie David Baker from The Office, and voice actors D.C. Douglas from Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Resident Evil, and Brendan Hunter from Hunter X Hunter and Dragon Ball.
The event began Friday at the Agri-Food Hub and Trade Centre, and continues today from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., then Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“As Lethbridge born and raised here, it’s really nice to see new buildings being put up and actually using the space to its fullest capacity,” says Fowler.
