A Good Samaritan is helping out stray dogs on the Kainai Reserve by providing food and water.

With the weather warming up in southern Alberta, J.C., a member of the Kainai reserve, is providing food and water to nine local dogs.

J.C. who asked to remain anonymous, says they were inspired by their father’s wishes when he suddenly passed three years ago.

“It was his goal before he suddenly passed away and he told me to make some sort of rescue in honour of him,” said J.C.

At the moment it is only J.C. running the initiative, but they are accepting donations for food and volunteers put to water out.

J.C. says one day they hope to become a vet and to make an animal shelter on the reserve

“I really, hope I could make a formal approach for our reserve and help more stray doga in all of the communities and have a safe spot people could reach out for anything needed,” said J.C.
