ABREY
JOHN HENRY ABREY, of Coaldale, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Monday, July 1st, 2013 at the age of 48 years.
John was born July 19, 1964 in LeRoy Saskatchewan to John and Janice Abrey. John married Wanda Bjorklund in 1981 and had two children Dawna Michelle Martha, and John Gordon Mark. In 1988 he married Vera Caldwell in Lethbridge who had two children, Vincent John William and Amy Brooke. John and Vera had a son, Jacen Mackenzie John in 1989.
John leaves behind his best friend and father John Abrey Sr. and mother Janice, Brother Jacen (Kim),and their children, Kandace, Darcee, Reagan and Kaci, sister Julie (Frank) Rach, Dustin and Tanna, wife, Vera, and children Dawna Critchley (Jason Moore) and her children Dalton Eiserman, and Levi and Neveah Critchley, Vincent Caldwell (Chandel storey) and daughter Brooklyn. Amy (Gary) Hume, Mark (Leslie Tiefenbach) and their children Nolan, Dylan and Raylie, and Jacen. As well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
John was preceded by grandparents Victor and Olive Abrey, George and Martha Nickel, and cousin Donna Schroeder.
John worked hard to support his family of seven. Through the years he worked for Well-Tech in Taber and Australian Canadian in Coaldale. In 2001 he was unable to work, but worked hard on many projects. John had a true passion for woodworking and building things. He was always willing to give a hand to help his neighbours, friends and family. John had a large place in his heart for animals and especially his pets. From the numerous cats and dogs to his pygmy goat Daisy May. Spending time at the campground gave him a sense of pride and purpose. He was able to be himself and had many friends who cared about him.
A Graveside Service will be held at the Coaldale Cemetery on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 2:00pm
A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on July 19, 2013 at the Hyland Campground Hwy 2 south of Fort Macleod commencing at 2:00pm until closing.

ERLANDSON
It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Kenneth Robert Erlandson on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2013. He was the loving husband and best friend of Millie Erlandson for 64 years. Born on July 25th, 1919 in Cadillac, Saskatchewan, Ken was raised on the farm. He joined the army in 1941 and served overseas. Ken and Millie were married on May 23rd, 1949. He owned and operated a service station in Regina, sold it, and then worked for Saskatchewan Air Ambulance as an aircraft mechanic. In 1960, the family moved to Pincher Creek where Ken and Millie owned and operated the Foothills Motel until 1969. He had the local dry cleaners for a short period of time and then went on to work for the MD of Pincher Creek until his retirement at age 67. Ken and Millie enjoyed many years since then golfing and camping. We will miss his sense of humour.
Ken is survived by his wife, Millie; his sons Gordon (Marlyn) and Bob (Virginia), and his daughter Eileen (Joe); his grandchildren: Kelcey and Glenna, Jill (Wilson) and Dave, Adam and Karli. He will be missed by his brother Don (Maxine), and his sisters Verona, Shirley, and Jean (Bud) as well as his many nieces and nephews. Ken was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Tacla, his brothers, Harold and Howard, brothers-in-law Bob and Elmer.

FOSTER
1939-2013
BRYAN ARTHUR FOSTER, beloved father of Debbie Mejia and Jeff Foster, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 27, 2013 at Chinook Regional Hospital, at the age of 73 years. He will be missed dearly.
He is survived by his daughter Debbie Mejia (Joel) of San Francisco, and son Jeff Foster (Angie) of Lloydminster.
Survivors also include brothers; Gary Foster, Jim Foster (Sandy), and Calvin Foster (Patricia), one grandchild Arthur Foster, and two grandchildren on the way.
Bryan was predeceased by his parents Art and Alice Foster, brother Doug Foster, sister Carol Ann Foster, and sister in-law Helen Foster.
As requested by Bryan, no service will be held.

Gordon A. Ross
Gordon passed away peacefully on June 23, 2013 in Victoria, B.C., at the age of 91. Gordon is survived by Hazel, his loving wife of 64 years. He is survived by; his son George ‘Sandy’ (Carol), daughters Irene (Ken), and Susan (Brian), grandchildren Christie, Michael, Madeleine ‘Maddie’, sister Donna. Gordon worked for the Alberta Department of Agriculture in Rocky Mountain House and later in Lethbridge. Gordon retired in Lethbridge, where he enjoyed travelling to explore new places, hiking in the mountains at Waterton National Park, riding horses and working on his farm at Rocky Mountain House. Gordon and Hazel moved to Victoria in 2005. He was a good friend, always a true gentleman and was kind to everyone he met. Our thanks to the wonderful staff at the Oak Bay Lodge, Victoria. Memorial will be held at a later date.

HASLAM
WILLIAM BOYD HASLAM passed away in the Foothills Hospital on June 30, 2013 at the age of 73 years. Boyd was born on April 11, 1940 to James Robert (Bob) and Chloe Haslam.

TOM CRAVEN
(1929-2013)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tom Craven, formerly of Bellevue, AB. Tom was called to be with the Lord on June 28, 2013 while receiving care and kindness at the Vista Village Care Centre in Pincher Creek. He was 83 years of age.
Tom Firth Craven was born on December 22, 1929 in Lethbridge, AB to Tom Wilfred & Edna Gladys Craven. Tom was raised with a great appreciation for family, community, faith and any task well done. He was a handsome and dashing young man who made a tremendous impression on a lovely young lady, Mary Mokosak, and won her affection. They pledged their love in holy matrimony on August 15, 1953 and were further blessed with four children of their own.
Tom enjoyed many things in his life including his coin collection, seeking hidden treasures with his metal detector, watching John Wayne & Perry Mason shows, camping and fly-fishing. His was talented in many ways including playing the harmonica, fixing and tinkering with automobiles, keeping an immaculate and beautiful garden but most importantly providing a wonderful and nurturing home for his family.
Tom was devoted to Mary and they enjoyed many years together traveling the roads, raising a family and caring for one another unconditionally. Their dedication to this community and the church was exemplary; Tom held several positions in the Knights of Columbus and obtained his life membership and fourth degree status and cherished his membership with the Good Sams Club. May he find salvation in the peace of Christ and may his memory continue to bless us with friendship and love.
Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life include his loving children, Tom Craven Jr. of Grande Cache, Laura (Steve) Fowler of Sylvan Lake, Alan Craven of Vancouver and Sheila (Mark Kondro) Craven of Rimbey; his grandchildren, Amanda (Marc) Labontè, Tommy Craven, Kalen Fowler, Eric Fowler, Carly Russell and Emily Russell; his great grandchildren, Isabelle, Rosalie and Sofie Labontè; his sister, Elaine (Reg) Scotney; his sister-in-law, Margaret (Dick) Trentham; his numerous nieces and nephews and his extended family; as well as the many friends that he made throughout his lifetime.
He was predeceased by his loving wife; Mary Craven; his father, Tom Craven Sr.; his mother, Edna Craven; his brothers, Bob (Rita) Jarvis and Jack (Marie) Jarvis; and his cherished canine companion, Buddy.
The Prayer Service honouring Tom’s life will be held on Friday, July 5, 2013 at 7:00 pm at the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Blairmore, Alberta.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Jack Pereira as Celebrant. Cremation will follow at the private crematorium of Fantin’s Funeral Chapel with interment in the Bellevue Catholic Cemetery. JOHN FRIESEN
March 25, 1945 – June 18, 2013
With great sadness the family of John Friesen announce his passing at the age of 68 years with his family at his side. John is survived by his wife Sonia; son John Paul, daughter Trina, son-in-law Derek Hordal, brothers Henry (Susie), Abe (Ruby), and Jake, sisters Tena (Denis) and Mary, and many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents Henry and Helena Friesen, brother Pete Friesen, niece Lisa Siemens, sister and brother in law Helen and Pete Siemens and brother-in-law Ron Breitkreutz. John was born in Tisdale, Sask. and lived in various places. He settled in Coaldale, AB. In grade 9, he received the Governor General Award for Excellence. John attended the U of A and earned a degree in Commerce. He articled for Deloitte in Edmonton and received his CA. John and his family moved to Saskatoon in 1983. He was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and moved to the Parkridge Centre in 1998. The family wishes to thank the staff at Parkridge for their excellent care over the years and the staff at St. Paul’s hospital for their care and compassionate treatment.
