Evan and Audrey continued to farm and live on section 33 until 1975 when they moved to live on the coulee of 05-15-25. In 1995, Evan and Audrey retired to Lethbridge.
Evan had many interests; one of his greatest pleasures was visiting and meeting people. Dad never minded picking up groceries at the Kirkcaldy store as crib games and visiting always occurred. He was a long time member of both the Vulcan and Champion Lions Club, serving as Zone Chairman and Deputy District Governor. He served as a delegate for the Alberta Wheat Pool for many years. He was always teased his new “office” in Lethbridge was Tim Hortons and many new friendships were developed there.
His grandchildren were his greatest joy, always proud to hear of their accomplishments. Granddad loved attending any of their school or sporting events and was never afraid to let the umpire know if he disagreed with the call. He enjoyed travelling and road trips, often hopping into the car if pie was at the end of the road. Trips to Ontario and summers in South Hampton with family and grandchildren were fond memories. One highlight of his life was a trip back to Wales to visit his father’s birthplace and farm.
He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
