Peter “Lorne” Eichendorf of Medicine Hat, passed away on Wednesday, November 20th, 2013 at the age of 52 years. Lorne leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Davis and Anthony; one daughter, Michann; one grandson, Gavin; his mother, Mary; one brother, Ross (Sandra); one sister, Norma Jean Boisson; and four nephews. Lorne was predeceased by his father, Walter. IVA BEBEK
1921 ~ 2013
Iva Bebek, beloved wife of the late Nick Bebek passed away at the age of 92 years.
Iva was born September 13, 1921 in Sipovaca, Bosnia-Herzegovina. She was the 2nd oldest of five siblings. Iva grew up on a small family farm, helping with the everyday chores. At the age of 35, she left her family and came to Canada to marry her childhood sweet heart. Together, they raised 2 children on their farm near Picture Butte. Here she worked alongside her husband doing every job to make ends meet. Her true enjoyments were working in the garden, baking for family gatherings and spending time with her 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. After Nick’s passing in 2005, Iva stayed on the farm, for another 5 years. The last 3 years were spent at Piyami Place.
Iva is survived by her son Marvin (Patti), grandchildren Curtis, Jamie (Brynne) Jacey, (Zach) Harris, great-granddaughter Lennie Bebek, daughter Lil (Art) and family, her sister Dragica and numerous nieces and nephews in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia. She is also survived by Nick’s 2 sisters, Millie Ponjavic, Andrea Habijanac, and sister-in-law Freda Bebek and families.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 49 years Nick, his parents Jure and Jurka Bebek, her parents Maté and Ruza Zivkusic, her 3 brothers Mijo, José, Vinko and their wives. Also Nick’s family, sister Madeline Lukenda, brother Mike Bebek, brothers-in-law Ivan Ponjavic, Rudy Habijanac, and Steve Lukenda.
A Prayer Vigil will be held at 7:00pm on Friday, November 22, 2013 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at ST. CATHERINE’S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 762 Crescent Avenue North, Picture Butte with Father Thomas Vadassery, celebrant.

McKEAN
COLLEEN McKEAN passed away at home in Lethbridge on Wednesday, November 20, 2013.
She is survived by two sons: Gordon (Verna) and Curtis (Cenz); grandchildren: Autumn, Elisha, Cody, Scott, and David; four great grandchildren; siblings: Bob (Gloria), Zoeann Aki, and Bruce (Joan); and her companion Andy Kuntz and family.
She is predeceased by her brother Ross and husband Bob.

PERRETT BLADES
EFFIE LOU-JEAN PERRETT BLADES passed away peacefully in Raymond on Tuesday, November 19, 2013.
She was married to David Henry Blades for 14 years and lived in Stirling.
She is the loving mother of: Scot (Josephine) Perrett of Taber, LaDawn Perrett of Stirling, Brad (Melissa) Perrett (deceased), Rhonda (Mark) Duncombe of Vernal, Utah, and Lorne (Kathy) Perrett of Raymond. She leaves behind 28 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, a brother-in-law Frank Mrazek, a sister-in-law Diane (Scott) Barton, and many nieces and nephews.
Lou-Jean is predeceased by her husband Charles Perrett, son Brad Perrett, her father and mother George and Lucy Bourne, sister Billie Still, her father-in-law and mother-in-law Charles and Elsie Perrett, sister-in-law Gwen Mrazek, and brother-in-law Bob Perrett.
Lou-Jean worked for 23 years in the lab at St. Michael’s. In 1954 she moved to Stirling with her husband. She enjoyed educating many people about genealogy. In 1952 she served a mission in England, and over the years she served in many callings in the church. She was a thoughtful, caring person who never missed a family or friends’ birthday.
The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, STIRLING CHAPEL, Stirling, Alberta on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the Stirling Cemetery.

PETA
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of LAWRENCE FRANCIS PETA of Edmonton, Alberta, at the age of 75 years, on November 14th 2013. Lawrence was the son of the late Julius Peta, and Helen Peta (Susnar), Lawrence was born in Lethbridge. Left to mourn are his loving wife Gabriella; son Aaron, daughter Heidi, and her family.
Lawrence was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and gracious teacher. He will always be cherished for his kind and gentle nature, generosity, and love of knowledge. In 1957 he was awarded the Calgary Herald Scholarship in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering.

ZOMBORI
NICK ZOMBORI, beloved husband of Linda, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at the age 75 years.
Nick is the loving father of Tracy (Todd) Kopp of Lethbridge and Monica (Randy) Podloski of Red Deer. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Brittany (TJ) Dow and Brady Podloski.
Nick is survived by sisters: Ethel Kemeri, Rose Daniels, Maggie Douglas and Betty Quee, mother-in-law Mae Lewis and brother-in-law, Gary Neher.
Nick was predeceased by his parents; Julianna and Joszef Zombori, father-in-law, Les Lewis, brother, Joe Zombori, sister, Julia Varady and sister-in-law, Fay Neher.
Nick was born in Gyor, Hungary on November 19, 1937. He immigrated with the family to Brooks, AB in 1949. They later moved to Picture Butte, where he met and married the love of his life, Linda Lewis on October 4, 1961 and were married 52 years. They had two daughters, Tracy who married Todd and Monica who married Randy; Nick treated his sons-in-law as though they were his own sons. As a family they spent time camping and socializing. Nick was proudest of his two grandchildren, Brittany and Brady and never missed the opportunity to brag about them. Nick loved life and always had a good time wherever he went. Always the life of the party wherever he went, everyone knew him as “Uncle Nick”.
Nick was a journeyman welder, apprenticing at Noble Blade in Nobleford, AB. He owned Nick’s Portable Welding and later in his career was the Maintenance Supervisor with Canada Packers in Lethbridge and Burlington, Ontario. He then worked in Calgary in the same industry, retiring at the age of 67.
Special thanks to the dedicated and compassionate staff on the Geriatric Assessment and Rehabilitation Unit at Chinook Regional Hospital. Their care and attention was appreciated. Thank you also to Dr.’s Cahill, Orr, Li and Mackie.

Bessie Johnson
1918 – 2013
Bessie Jean Johnson (formerly McCarley – nee Stewart), beloved wife of the late J.V. (Mutt) McCarley and W.S. (Bill) Johnson, passed away in Lethbridge on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at the age of 95 years.

Bessie is survived by her daughter Echo McCarley of Lethbridge; niece Dixie McCarley (Bill Darr) of Coaldale; step children Diane Virostek of Lethbridge, Connie (Howard) Yanosik of Lethbridge and Bernie (Michele) Johnson of Sun Valley, Idaho as well as their children and grandchildren.  She is also survived by her adopted family Elsie Friesen, Jake and Sheila Friesen, Tina and Gerald Oevering and Bridget Given.
She was predeceased by her first husband J.V. (Mutt) McCarley, and her second husband W.S. (Bill) Johnson; parents Alexander Armstrong and Ella Mae Stewart; brother John (Jack) Clarkson Stewart; sister Mae McCord and brother-in-law Bud McCord.
Bessie was born May 18, 1918 in the Galt Hospital in Lethbridge. When she was five the family moved to an irrigation farm near Vauxhall where she resided for the rest of her life.
In 1941 Bessie married J.V. (Mutt) McCarley and they farmed in the area before going into the trucking, bulk oil and fertilizer business. During her many years of residence in Vauxhall she worked at the bulk oil plant, Animal Clinic and drove school bus.   
Bessie and her family were very involved with horses and rodeo for many years. She was an accomplished horse woman. Support and commitment to the community was very important to her. Her motto was “support the community you live in”, and she did as an active member of the Parkview United Church UCW, Vauxhall Golf Club, Curling Club, Vauxhall Saddle Club, Southern Alberta Riding and Roping Club, Order of the Vauxhall Eastern Star and the Vauxhall Willing Workers Club. Bessie took particular pride in the Golf Club where, as President, she got the underground watering system in place, as well she was very involved in the women’s and junior golf programs.
She always enjoyed people and had an open door policy at her home. The coffee was always on and she was ready to prepare a meal at a moment’s notice.  She was a hard working, gracious, happy, encouraging person who never complained and always looked at the bright side of things.  
After being alone for years after Mutt died, she married W.S. (Bill) Johnson in December 1979 and continued to live in Vauxhall. Bessie was fortunate to have great friends and neighbors who dropped in on a regular basis allowing her to live independently until the age of ninety three. At this time she moved in with her daughter, Echo and lived in Lethbridge until her passing. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
