AGNES “EILEEN” SCHEURMAN
1924 ~ 2014
Mrs. Agnes “Eileen” Scheurman of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Henry “Hank” Scheurman, passed
away at St. Michael’s Health Care Centre on Monday, March 3, 2014 at the age of 89 years.
Eileen was born on September 17, 1924 in Dominion City, Manitoba to John and Emily Walters. She moved to
Calgary in her late teens where she met Hank and they were married on July 15, 1947 to months after they
met. Their two sons, Donald and Gordon, were born in Calgary and the family moved to Lethbridge in 1952.
Eileen was well known in Lethbridge for her career in ladies fashions. She worked for many years as
manager of McArthur’s Ladies Wear and Faye’s Apparel. Eileen was a very talented seamstress, designing
most of her own wardrobe. She enjoyed gardening, pickling, canning, fishing and spending time at their
property at Lee Lake with her family and friends.
Eileen is survived by her sons Donald (Judy) Scheurman and Gordon (Louise) Scheurman; grandchildren Brad
(Judy) Scheurman, Cara (Matthew) Ball, Krista (Derek) Descoteau, Jamie (Bryan) Eklund, and Kimberley
Scheurman; great-grandchildren Hailey, Chase, Liam, Sadie, Ruby, Owen, Jacob, Dawsen, and Daiya and
numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
A special thank you to the staff of St. Michael’s for creating such a warm, loving home for Eileen.

MUIR, Patrick Garry – 61, of Coleman, AB, passed away suddenly March 4, 2014, in FootHills Hospital,
Calgary, AB. Born in Winnipeg. MB, son of the late Harry and Ruth Muir and biological son of Gayle
Little. Garry was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. Survived by daughters Angie
(Doug) Publicover, Tricia (Steve) Oblander, Chrystal (Chad Kobelsky) Muir, Tara (Chris) Watson, Selina
(Jeff Bauck) Muir; grandchildren Zachary, Kyla, Tyler, Jake, Allisa, Brandon, Cali, Casey, Madison and

PATRICK DILLON
1945 ~ 2014
Patrick Gerald Dillon of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Karen G. Dillon (Herter), passed away after a
lengthy illness on March 9, 2014 at the age of 68 years.
Patrick was born in Kingston, Ontario October 15, 1945, son of Bernard & Dorothy Dillon. He joined the
Bank of Nova Scotia at age 17 and worked 10 years out of Toronto as an International Inspector traveling
all over the world. He came to Lethbridge in 1984 as a credit officer, later becoming Bank Manager in
Grande Prairie and Coaldale, and then retired in 2000.
Patrick gave his time willingly to many charities (Bingo and Casinos), a member of Coaldale Rotary and
Chamber of Commerce. He loved his sports, Toronto Blue Jays & Maple Leafs.
He leaves behind his soul-mate, first and only love Karen, as well as his step-daughter Bunny MacNeill
(Scott); his sisters Donna (Mike) Rines, Anne (Peter) Murphy, Margie (Sam) Hawley, Susan (Dominic)
Pullano, Carol (Glen) Giddy and Lynn (Glenn) Sorensen; his brothers Richard and Bernard; sister and
brother-in-law Sharon (Robbie) Asuchak; brother and sister-in-law Terry (Kim) Herter; as well as numerous
nieces, nephews and their families.
Pat was predeceased by his parents Bernard and Dorothy Dillon, as well as his brother James.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at ST. BASIL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH,
604, 13th Street North, Lethbridge, with Father Nathan Siray, celebrant.

WALTER PAUL ANTOCHOW
JANUARY 23, 1944 ~ MARCH 6, 2014
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Walter Paul Antochow on Thursday, March 6, 2014
at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Centre surrounded by his loving family. He was an amazing husband,
father, brother, uncle, cousin, friend and the greatest Papa ever.
Walter was born on January 23, 1944 in Lestock, Saskatchewan to Peter and Katherine Antochow (deceased).
Walter grew up on the family farm in Wishart, SK and was the youngest boy in a large family of 16
children. Walter is survived by Shirley, his loving wife of 42 years, their children Alison (Todd)
Piekema; Jobina (Roger) Piekema; Nick (Derrick) Antson and his pride and joy his eight beautiful
grandchildren (Holden, Kyra, Alyssa, Addison, Braiden, Isaac, Layton and Landon). He is also survived by
seven sisters: Anne (Hanna) (Raymond – deceased) Maksymytz; Stella (Bill – deceased) Maksymtz; Stephanie
(George) Velychko; Margaret Krawchuk; Francis Misuga; Georgina (John) Skilnik; Josephine (Rudy)
Machsymach; three brothers: Mike (Arlene) Antochow; Raymond (Bess) Antochow and John (Diane) Antochow. He
was predeceased by sisters Maria (Murray – deceased) Yurkiw; Lena (John) McLeod; Anastasia Antochow; Rose
(George – deceased) McKenzie and brother Joseph Antochow. He is also survived by members of his wife’s
family along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Walter’s work career included farming, construction and the oil field in both Saskatchewan and Alberta.
Two of his proudest achievements were having taken part in the building of the Lethbridge (Chinook)
Regional Hospital and the Old Man River Dam. He retired from the oil field in Fort McMurray in 2009. A
member for 42 years of The Construction and General Workers’ Union Local 1111 & Local 92, something he
was very proud to be part of. Walter was also a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion and always
enjoyed visiting a new club in every town he traveled through.
Walter enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He always believed that making memories was more
precious than material things. He loved fishing, camping, cooking, watching hockey, having a beer by the
fire and time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered by everyone for the sparkle in his eye, his
contagious smile, his giant bear hugs and his great big hands. His heart was a big as his stature.
