MANY CHIEFS
It is with profound sadness and a broken heart that we announce the sudden passing of our wife, mother, grandma, and superhero, Mrs. BEVERLY MANY CHIEFS (nee Wolf Child) “Boka-kii” on June 29, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.
Beverly is survived by her beloved husband, Marvin Sr.; her children, Lana & Lance Healy, Marvin Jr., Charmaine, Chad, Marisa, Cheyenne, and Jared; her grandchildren, Tate, Ellie, Scarlett and Paris; her godson, Brandon Wolf Child; her mother, Maud Black Face; her brother, Gordon; her sisters, Mary (Michael) Weasel Head and Barbara (Gilbert) Weasel Fat; her mother-in-law, Mae (Pete) Tallow; her brothers-in-law, Ivan (Roberta) Tallow, John and Cameron Tallow; sisters-in-law, Debbie (Warner) Many Bears and Tina Tallow; numerous nieces and nephews.
Beverly was born on October 16, 1959 to George and Maud Black Face. Beverly was daddy’s girl who he affectionately called “Cookie”. She grew up in the Standoff area on the Blood Reserve, but later on when she was married, moved to Calgary to support her husband as he furthered his education.
Beverly received her schooling in Fort Macleod, AB and went on to Red Crow College with her sister, Barbara. She obtained her Office Assistant certificate at Academy of Learning; she went to Lethbridge College to receive her Fetal Alcohol Spectrum disorder certificate and also, received her Medical Office Assistant.
In 1978, she met her soul mate, Marvin. Together, they raised their seven children and four grandchildren. Marvin was her best friend, and favorite foe. In 2005, they further continued their love story and were married on October 15. Together, with their children, they travelled throughout Canada and the USA, and acquired many lifetime memories that will be forever cherished. Marvin and Beverly were seldom apart and went through life together.
However, her greatest achievement and desires was to be a mom to her children. She was their greatest cheerleader, confidante, and best friend. She had a special and unique bond with all of her children; she had tremendous love for all of them and still had more love to share with all who crossed her path. She was at every function and special achievements with the biggest proud smile on her face with her camera in hand to document every milestone and achievement. She was the second mother to her grandkids and again was at their every sporting event and special occasions always ready to tell them how proud grandma was of them. And in turn, her children adored her and would always turn to her for everything because they knew that she always had the right thing to say or do. In 2004, when Beverly first became ill, she fought hard and displayed what a resilient spirit she had, her husband and children rallied around her and supported and protected her throughout her health concerns.
Beverly was a creative lady, she loved to sew and make crafts. She loved gatherings with her family and she was the first one to suggest a party to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and weddings, so she could have the family together where she and sisters would do their special dance to Proud Mary. She remembered everyone’s birthday and always had a little something for them. She was humorous, had a gentle spirit and always, always saw the bright side of life. She was the true role model of what a lady was, as this was evident by her selfless love she had for all. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and always tried to help in any way she could. Beverly was a very spiritual and humble lady. She had a great belief in the Creator and lead an exemplary life devoted to the traditional way of life. In 2009, she made her cursillo with her daughter Charmaine and niece, Ralee. In 2013, she and her husband joined the White Buffalo Society. In the last year of her life, the society gave her a greater purpose and she eagerly attended every meeting and functions. She was a very proud member, and was very committed as she saw this as another example of how she could give back and help others. Beverly also loved her new family; she admired and respected her new brothers and sisters and developed a close bond with all. She was looking forward to this year’s Sundance and she was enthusiastically preparing and could not wait to move up to the Sundance.
Beverly was predeceased by her dad, George Black Face; brothers James and Roger Wolf Child; nephew Gordon Wolf Child Jr. as well as numerous aunts, uncles and grandparents.

“When tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart, for every time you think of me, I’m right there in your heart”.
