BARNETT
DOROTHY BARNETT, beloved wife of Michael Barnett of Lethbridge, passed away at the Foothills Hospital on
Friday, August 15, 2014 at the age of 73 years.
Dorothy was born September 7, 1940, in Magrath, Alberta. She went to school in Magrath, Alberta, and from
there she met her future husband, Michael Barnett. Dorothy and Michael owned and operated Barnett Cattle
Company together, and during the next 56 years together they raised six children: Jacquie, Kathy, Susan,
Tracy (deceased), Jennifer, and Austin.
Dorothy loved her children and grandchildren dearly, her love will be carried in the hearts of her family
for many years to come. Her many thoughtful deeds for friends and neighbors will be missed greatly by all
who knew and loved her.
Dorothy is predeceased by her parents Herman and Annie John, brother Richard John, two children, Tracey
and Timothy Barnett, also her sons in law, Bill Whiteford and Larry Koma. She is survived by her husband
Michael Barnett, children, Jacquie (Wes) Rasmussen, Kathy Thompson, Susan (Larry-deceased) Koma, Jennifer
(Bill-deceased) Barnett, and Austin (Savannah) Barnett. She has ten grandchildren and thirteen great
grandchildren.
A Prayer service will be held at Cornerstone Funeral Home – 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge,
Alberta on Wednesday, August 20th, 2014 at 7:00 P.M. with Maureen Condon Horon officiating.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 12th Avenue South,
Lethbridge, Alberta on Thursday, August 21st, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. with Father Nathan Siray Celebrating.
Interment to follow in the Magrath Cemetery.

BRADEN
VERA FAITH BRADEN (nee Saunders) of Lethbridge passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday,
August 15, 2014 at the age of 84. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 57 years, Al;
her children Doug (Lori) Braden, Ray Braden and Brenda (Kevin) Griffiths; 4 grandchildren Amy Griffiths,
Becky Griffiths, Denyse (Matt) Welsch and Andrew Murney as well as 2 great granddaughters Peyton and
Avery Welsch. She is also survived by her sister Fern (Bill) Forester, brothers Wilmer Saunders and
Frelan (Donna) Saunders, numerous nieces and nephews as well as Al’s family.
Vera’s priorities were God, family and friends. Vera and Al travelled all over the world in their
retirement years and were fortunate to experience all 7 continents. She was very active within McKillop
United Church and loved nothing better than taking walks with her coffee group. She took pride in her
children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always looked forward to planning the next family
event.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 18, 2014 at CHRISTENSEN SALMON GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME,
703 – 13 Street North, Lethbridge from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at McKILLOP UNITED CHURCH, 2329 – 15 Avenue
South, Lethbridge at 2:00 PM with Reverend Aldeen McKay officiating. Interment to follow in Mountain View
Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association, RR 8-24-6,
Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 4P4 or the Jack Ady Cancer Centre, Alberta Cancer Foundation, 960 19 Street
South, Lethbridge, Alberta, T1J 1W5.

Mrs. Helga Sabina Beck of Lethbridge, beloved wife of Mr. Peter Beck, passed away on Monday, August 11,
2014 at the age of 71 years.
Helga was a caring and devoted nurse for 45 years. She loved travelling and had a true appreciation for
Waterton Lakes National Park. She was an animal lover and had many dogs over the years. Helga was a
fantastic cook and baker, fancied taking walks, or being in her garden.
Helga is survived by her two daughters Sonya Douglas and Charmen Janik (John); grandchildren Andrew and
Brody Douglas; sister Sonia (Josef); brother Richard Jajszczok (Ivonne); nephews Max & Patrick Jajszczok
and their families.

MR. RICHARD ALVIN SCHULTZ, beloved husband of Linda Bruneau of Coaldale, passed away suddenly at home on
Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the age of 59 years.
Left to mourn his passing are his brothers, Michael (Monica), Tom (Alice), Roy (Trudy) Schultz, his step
children – Angele (Shawn) Marc, and his grandchildren Logan and Jayden. He will also be missed by his
numerous nieces and nephews.

DOREEN ELOISE WILSON, beloved wife of the late Elgen Wilson of Coaldale, passed away at the Chinook
Regional Hospital on her birthday, Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the age of 90 years.
She is survived by her children Sharlene (Ed) Prosk, Lyle (Ursula) Wilson, Melanie Lee and Roxy Wilson,
her 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Doreen was predeceased by her husband Elgen “Sandy” Wilson on December 18, 1992, son-in-law Roy Lee,
three brothers and two sisters.
As per Doreen’s request, there will be no formal funeral service.
