RUTH JACOBS GLENN RASMUSSEN passed from this life Wednesday, October 29th on her 93rd birthday. She died of causes incident to age. Ruth was born October 29, 1921, in Cardston, Alberta, Canada to Zebulon William and Dora Hinman Jacobs. Her school years were spent in Cardston. She had a happy, busy childhood as her family hosted many church and civic leaders due to her fatherÂ¹s responsibilities in the community. Ruth married Grant Kay Glenn August 11, 1943 in the Cardston, Alberta Temple. They were stationed in Souris, Manitoba during the War years, where Ruth made many good friends and had some life-building experiences. Following the War, they moved to Edmonton. During those years, Ruth and Grant had 5 children. The couple moved to Calgary in 1958. They divorced in 1960. Ruth worked for BA Oil, Paramount Life Insurance, LDS Social Services, and Bingham Dentistry. She retired to Cardston in 1981, to work in the Cardston, Alberta Temple. Motherhood was her crowning career. Ruth met and married Lloyd Marion Rasmussen. They married August 20, 1983 and enjoyed 14 happy years together before Lloyd`s passing. She endeared herself to LloydÂ¹s seven children and numerous grandchildren. As faithful members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, they served a mission in Columbus, Texas, USA. They enjoyed gardening, music, good literature, Arabian horses, travelling, but most of all spending time with their large combined family. Ruth and Lloyd loved trips to Waterton National Peace Park. Ruth was proud of her pioneer heritage and ancestry. She was a long-time member of Daughters of the Utah Pioneers (1st Camp). She served as a docent at the Card Pioneer Home and The Court House Museum in Cardston. Ruth was a gifted speaker, historian, and missionary. Ruth is survived by her five children: Richard J. Glenn (Susan Rees), Gregory G. Glenn (Roxanne Godfrey), Thomas F. Glenn (Cynthia Ursenbach), Shelley (Tex Stevens), and Cori (Kelwood Davidsen). She was beloved by her progeny and the Rasmussen Family. The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Temple Street Chapel, Cardston, Alberta on Tuesday, November 4th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may meet the family from 10:00 to 10:45 p.m. prior to the service. Mr. Roman Andron, beloved son of Teresa Andron and the late John Andron, passed away while in hospital in Edmonton on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the age of 46 years. Besides his mother Teresa, Roman is survived by his brother Mark and his partner Lois Punton and her son Jackson.
