MARY FULTON HAIG CANT passed away peacefully on December 17th, 2014 in Magrath at the age of 88 years. Left to celebrate her life are her 7 children: Tricia (Bill), Sheila (John), Ian (Dawn), Brian, Bruce, Debbie, Lynda; 26 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 2 great great granddaughters. Our Mom has gone home to share Christmas with Dad this year. We will miss her but know she is happy and where she has longed to be. A Graveside Dedication will be held at the Magrath Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on December 23rd, 2014. EDITH WINIFRED YOUNG
1921 ~ 2014
Edith Winifred Young of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Gordon Neil Young, passed away peacefully in Lethbridge on December 16, 2014 with family at her side. She was 93 years of age. Edith was born in Aldershot, Farnham, England to William and Lily Jessiman, and grew up in Farnborough, Hampshire where she met her late husband Gordon when he was stationed there during World War II. They were married on December 20, 1941 in the Garrison Church in Aldershot. She and her husband moved to Lethbridge to begin their new life with his family after the war. She was survived by a daughter Jean Sera of Coaldale, sons John (Irene) Young of Lethbridge, and Dr. Bruce (Margaret) Young of Shoreview, Minnesota, grandchildren Karen (Don) McNeill, Robert (Natalie) Sera, Mark (Tanya) Sera, Kirsten (Richard Dowker) Young, Stephen (Devon) Young, Jessica (Aaron) Layton, Joshua Young, Genevieve Young, Celeste Young, Elliot Young, Daniel Krajewski as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their families. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Isabel Farmer of Victoria, BC, and Christine Gourley & Joan Jessiman, both of England. Besides her loving husband Gordon Neil Young, she was predeceased by all of her siblings and a son-in-law, James Sera. Mom, or Nanny as she was known by her grandchildren, was the glue that held us all together. Her family was her passion and she left this world in the same way that she lived in it, with dignity and grace. She was a great example and encouragement to us all, and will be sorely missed and fondly remembered. A family celebration will be held at a later date. Mrs. Florence Petrie of Lethbridge, beloved spouse of the late Mr. Norman Petrie, passed away on December 21, 2014 at the age of 89 years. She was survived by her son Jim (Colleen), daughter Charlotte (Charlie), grandsons Terry & Robert, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. Florence is predeceased by her husband Norm, her parents Thomas & Charlotte Cardwell, two brothers, and eights sisters. Eve was a registered nurse at the Lethbridge Hospital for 35 years. She graduated from the Galt School of Nursing in 1946. A private graveside service will be held in Archmount Cemetery, with Canon Allan McCuaig, officiating. Mrs. Kazimiera “Kay” Rabski, beloved wife of the late Mr. Marian Rabski, died on December 13, 2014 at Legacy Lodge in Lethbridge, at the age of 91 years. KONG
KALUN KONG, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Friday, December 19th, 2014 at the age of 84 years. Ka was born in Canton, China in 1930, he grew up in China and in 1977 met, fell in love with, and married Wai-Cheng Chow. A year later in 1978 they moved to Lethbridge, Alberta. Once settled, Ka and his wife opened their first restaurant with the family “The Ming Tree” Chinese Food Restaurant. In 1983, he started “The Green Jade” restaurant and ran it until retirement in 1989. Ka sadly lost his wife in the year 2001. MARGARET WHITE TROLLOPE DUTTON
1924 ~ 2014
Margaret W. Dutton, beloved mother of Jay Buis, Bob Trollope (Nancy), and Liz Connors, Don Dutton (Marta Aragones), and Rick Buis, cherished grand-mother of Natasha (Jason) Buis Deering, Mike Trollope, Chrissy Trollope, Steve Connors and Laura Trollope Blasak, and devoted great-grandmother of Alex and Cole Trollope and Sasha Deering and sister-in-law, Eileen Trollope passed away on December 18, 2014 at the age 90. Margaret was predeceased by her first husband, Arthur Edgar (Bud) Trollope (1967) and by her second husband George W. Dutton (1999) and special brother-in-law, Robert Trollope (1999). Born in Saint Lambert Quebec, Margaret lived in various towns in Ontario until adulthood where she primarily resided in Toronto. For the past six years, she has resided in Lethbridge with her oldest daughter and her family. Upon her retirement from retail, her greatest joy include travelling, cruises, stays in Florida, and her participation with Sunnybrook Volunteers Association as a member of the Late Bloomers 1985 to 2008. Mom served as president of SVA 1987-1989 and sat of the hospital board.
To her family, Mom was one of the most inspiring, gracious, witty, kind, supportive and loving lady. We miss her so very much and we can never repay her for all she has taught us. SCHWAB
HENRY SCHWAB, of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Thursday, December 18th, 2014 at the age of 68 years. Henry was a sweet, kind man. He worked as a heavy-duty mechanic with the best of them in Saskatchewan, Alberta and B.C. Henry could tell you about working on a motor at night at -56ºF somewhere up north. He started oiling up his tricycle at age four, laying on his back. A natural born mechanic. He was also an avid gardener and a cook too. Henry is predeceased by his mother Harriet, father Henry and three brothers, Theodore, Charlie and William. He is survived by one sister, Margaret, his first wife Marilyn Schwab and his second wife Mary Ann Schwab, daughters Karen, Wendy and son Ramsey as well as grandchildren Jewel, Jeremy and Michael. Henry was a gentle, jolly soul, one that was so nice to meet. A Celebration of Henry’s life will take place on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 4:00 P.M. for family and friends.

WILLIAM A. BRIDGER
1941-2014
It is with sadness we announce the passing of William (Bill) on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at St. Michael¹s Palliative Care Centre in Lethbridge. AB. Bill was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and after many years dedicated to his career in Edmonton and London, Ontario, he retired with his wife, Rita Spencer, to Lethbridge in 2007. Bill spent most of his working life in Edmonton as a biochemistry researcher, an academic and later in this life, as a senior administrator with universities and research science organizations. He is survived by his three eldest children Keith, Jocelyn and Eric, as well as his youngest daughter Andrea. Bill is remembered by many friends and relatives who showed amazing support and love for Bill over the years. Bill enthusiastically adapted to his new home in Lethbridge, volunteering with the Lethbridge Regional Hospital (Emergency Department), and as a board member with Meals on Wheels. Bill and Rita were grateful for their time together with their great neighbors in the coulees.
A service will be held in January ­ date to be announced tomorrow. Family and Friends will be very welcome to the service and reception to follow. A memorial will also be held at the University of Alberta at a later date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Transplant Society or to the William A.
