OVEREEM
With unbearable sadness, we announce the sudden and untimely passing of our son, BRODY OVEREEM, on Thursday, April 30th, 2015 at the age of 25 years.
He leaves behind his loving family; parents Giorgio Overeem, Candace “Cj” (Jason Panchuk) Ayotte, sister Tait Overeem (Manu Monteiro), brothers Tyler (Danyelle) Paquette and Clayton Panchuk, nephew Matthew Paquette, and nieces Kennedi and Syenna Paquette.
Brody lived a life that brought love and happiness to all who knew him. His many friends and family are testament to this. Brody’s family would like to thank deeply all those whom have shared in his life.
A Celebration of Life service will take place at COLLEGE DRIVE COMMUNITY CHURCH, 2710 College Dr S, Lethbridge, AB, on Wednesday, May 6th, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Bob Wallace officiating.

Delores Viani
1927 – 2015
Dolores Viani of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Antonio Viani, passed away peacefully at the age of 88 in the Lethbridge hospital following a fall where she broke her leg close to the hip.

  Lilian May Wakelin
November 22, 1919 -April 5, 2015
Lilian was born to Samuel and Lilian Holdsworth in Rugby, England. After her marriage to Bernard Wakelin in 1944, she moved to Germany (British Forces R.E.M.E.) in 1947. On returning to England in 1956 she remained there until moving to Canada in 1988. She is survived by her children Keith and Dee, along with sister Rita Holdsworth, niece Sheila, nephew John all of the U.K. Lilian is also survived by her daughter Diana (Alan) Young of Lethbridge and grandchildren Rebecca, Benjamin and Elizabeth.
She was predeceased by elder sister Winnie and her husband in 1978.
Despite her increasing blindness, Lilian had a wonderful sense of humour; a zest for life, enjoying nature, the sunshine, swimming, cooking and playing cards.
She belonged to various Lethbridge organizations including the Walkers Club of the Seniors Centre, Mathesis Club, the C.N.I.B., and the Evening Group at St. Augustine’s Anglican Church.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at ST. AUGUSTINE’S ANGLICAN CHURCH, 411 – 11 Street South, Lethbridge, with Canon James Robinson officiating. No flowers by request.

Bertie Thompson
1940 – 2015
Bertha Agnethe Thompson (nee Bosley), passed away in Taber on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the age of 75 years.

Bertie is survived by her children Jo-Anne (Tony) Machacek of Taber and their children Jessica Machacek, Samantha Machacek (Mike Pharo) and Joel Machacek; Jim (Lori) Thompson of Taber and their children Alyssa Thompson (Colin Lepp) and Brady Thompson; Mike Thompson (Judy Porteous) of Kelowna, British Columbia. She is also survived by her mother Gladys Bosley, sister Velvet Ajtai, brother-in-law Jim Flanagan, mother-in-law Esther Thompson, sisters-in-law Ginny (Ray) Snaychuk and Lynda Jensen (Tom Bencic), brothers-in-law Bill (Shirley) Thompson and Garry Thompson.
She was predeceased by her father Vancouver Bosley, sister Madie Lee Flanagan, father-in-law George Thompson and a very special family friend Alex Fettig.
Bertie was born on February 27, 1940 in Perry, Saskatchewan and grew up in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. She was married on August 3, 1957, and her three children were born in Weyburn. In July 1966 they moved their family to Lethbridge, settling in Taber in 1972. Bertie stayed home to raise her children. When the children were grown, she took a position at Telus in Taber. In 1985 she left Taber to live in various communities, including Calgary, Kaleden, British Columbia, Edmonton and Kelowna, British Columbia, eventually moving back to Taber in 1997. While in British Columbia, she worked at Ticket Master, and upon her return to Taber she worked for Ticket Master in Lethbridge for a short time. Bertie then filled her days working as a care companion for seniors (Valentine Peters and the Anderson sisters). She was very active in many organizations. Bertie volunteered at the Taber Extended Care, Beta Sigma Phi, Royal Canadian Legion, TOPS-KOPS and the Red Hatters. Bertie loved and was extremely proud of her grandkids more than anything. She especially enjoyed attending all of their activities over the years.

Bertie has spent the last six years fighting Alzheimers and the family would like to thank everyone who helped her on this difficult journey. A special thank you to Gwen Chipman, Monica Machacek and all the staff at Linden View.
