BLACK FOREHEAD

The family of JACK BLACK FOREHEAD “NIO SKII SAAP’P” (THREE HEAD DRESS) wishes to announce his peaceful passing on Saturday, January 9th, 2016 at the age of 94 years.

Jack will be sadly missed by his children – Adrian (Elizabeth), Annette (Myron), Edna (Marna), Marilyn, Brenda, Daniel (Bettina), Leonard; grandchildren – Terrence, Kirsten, Colten, Sheldon, Michelle, Dwayne, Cody, T.J., Alana, Wanda, Melissa, Garrett, Candace, Amanda, Jarred, Joshua, Jocelyn, Danielle & Danika, Kim, Lacey, Shilo, Juanita, Brad, Nicole, Mercedes & Marissa, Hailey, Cory, Sarah, Shaneece; 51 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Jack was predeceased by his wife, Amy Black Forehead; daughter Cindy Black Forehead; sister Annie Fair; brother Mike Black Forehead; nephews Tom Chief Calf, Jim Two Gun Knife, Frank Brown, Wilford Bird; grandchildren Tanya Black Forehead and Charles Old Shoes; brother-in-law Tom White Man; special friend Isabel Spear Chief.

A Wake Service will be at the Old Saipoyi Gym, Stand Off on Friday, Jan. 15th from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m., continuing all night at Jack’s residence. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Blood Reserve on Saturday, Jan. 16th at 11:00 a.m. with Father Pawel Andrasz, Celebrant. Interment in St. Catherine’s Cemetery.

DOUWE JAN BOERSMA

(April 21st, 1931 – January 12th, 2016)

Douwe Jan Boersma went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Tuesday January 12th, 2016 @ 10am after his natural heart failed him. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife Carol Boersma and his eight children and their spouses Wayne (Rose) Boersma of Lethbridge AB, Riny (Otto) Boss of Lethbridge AB, Diane (Bert) Voskamp of Atwood (ON), Simon (Julie) Boersma of Surrey BC, Hans (Janet) Boersma of Penhold AB, Annette (Kelly) Foster of Abbotsford BC, Rita (James) Knelsen of Fort McMurray AB, Henry (Lois) Boersma of Lethbridge AB, and his two step daughters Colleen Goetz, Calgary AB and Brenda (Keith) Walker as well as his 34 grand-children and 23 great grand-children. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was predeceased by his 1st wife, Anna Hendrika Boersma-Drost on March 24th, 1988. BRANDLEY

CATHERINE MARIE BRANDLEY passed away peacefully at 90 years old in Raymond, Alberta on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, after living a life full of unconditional love, service and joy.

She is predeceased by her loving husband, Robert Louis Brandley, and son, James Brandley. She is lovingly missed by eight children; Diane Dunn, Becky Beazer (Heber), Susan Stanford (Frank), Sylvia Torrie (Richard), Rob Brandley (Tammy), Richard Brandley (Louise), Brenda Brandley and Bill Brandley (Melanie), thirty-five grandchildren and fifty-two great grandchildren.

There will be an opportunity to greet the family on Friday, January 22, 2016 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the LDS – Raymond Knight Street Chapel, or from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.

The Funeral Service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, KNIGHT STREET CHAPEL, 260 East 200 North, Raymond.

Interment to follow at the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond.

Darleen was predeceased by her parents Don and Mary Carroll.

1934 – 2016
Patrick K. Lund, beloved husband of Johanne Sandra Lund (nee Sanders), passed away peacefully in Taber on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the age of 81 years.

Besides his loving wife Johanne, he is survived by his children Judy (Tom) Birch of Grande Prairie, Terrie (Larry) Renner of Taber and Todd Lund of New Westminster, British Columbia; grandchildren Tammy Blum, Trisha Birch, Cassandra Renner, Kennedy Renner; great grandchildren Joseph, Samantha and Tyson Blum. He is also survived by his brother Terry Lund, sister-in-law Florence “Bunny” Eves as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Art K. and Violet (nee Murphy) Lund, infant brother Douglas Lund, sister-in-law Lorna Lund and brother-in-law Ross Eves.
P.K. was born on August 24, 1934 at the Galt Hospital in Lethbridge. He was raised on the farm One-Seventeen just outside of Milk River, where he developed his love on animals and the land. P.K.’s early schooling took place “just over the hill” near One-Seventeen before he finished his schooling in Milk River.
P.K. worked on the family farm until he began his career in the oilfield in 1962 when he was hired by Dowell of Canada. After twenty six years of working for Dowell, he retired in 1986 only to turn around and work as a consultant/contractor to Dowell and then with Nowsco.
In February of 1973, P.K., along with his wife Johanne, moved out to, as it was affectionately called “The Funny Farm” just north of Taber. Beside his love for Johanne, his family and “dog of the moment”, P.K.’s passion was working in the hay field during the summer months. P.K. was often seen in the field wearing his favorite beaten up and weathered straw hat while he was swathing or baling the hay, something he did until the age of seventy five.

HEGGIE

DALLAS MELAINE (Douglas) HEGGIE, beloved wife of Bruce G. Heggie, passed away in Raymond on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the age of 68 years.

She is the loving mother of Hunter (Carol) of Lethbridge, and Dusty (Ron) Thomson of Raymond. She leaves behind seven grandchildren. Dallas is also survived by her twin sister Alice (Gary) Allred, sister Kim (Rick) Balazs, and brother Kent (Crystal) Douglas.

Dallas was born to Milo and Barbara Douglas on May 30, 1947. She was raised in Raymond. Dallas worked in the meat department of the Raymond Mercantile, and then at the Raymond Care Centre until her retirement. She was always the life of the party! Everyone in town was sure to walk away with a smile after talking to Dallas. She was “One” of a kind! She lived for July 1 and Christmas and always enjoyed having all of her family around and having a big party. Dallas loved outdoor activities, including gardening, tending to her flowers, and golfing through the years.

A special thank-you to all the nurses, staff, and volunteers at the Raymond Health Centre.

Dallas will be always loved and truly missed.

Friends may meet the family on Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the LDS – Raymond Stake Centre, or prior to the funeral service on Monday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, RAYMOND STAKE CENTRE, 2 N, 200 W, Raymond, with Bishop Jim Steed officiating.

ELAINE NORTH PEIGAN, beloved wife of the late Steve Greenstien, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Monday, January 11, 2016 at the age of 61 years.

Elaine is survived by her mother, Julianna North Peigan, sons, Keith “Little” North Peigan, Jason North Peigan, daughter Ashley (Aaron) North Peigan grandsons Bryson North Peigan, and Lashon North Peigan, brother Glenn (Darcia) North Peigan, sister Miriam North Peigan. She is also survived by her special friends who are more like family, Darryl M. and Edward (Heather) Gatzky. 1924 – ROSET – 2016

Mr. Ted (Theodore) Roset of Medicine Hat, previously from Lethbridge, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2016 at the age of 91 years.

Ted was born in Gouldtown, Saskatchewan on May 25, 1924. He married Evelyn Markwart on July 19, 1947. They lived in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and in 1948 moved to Gouldtown to take over the Roset family farm until 1952. They had two sons, Kenneth Dale and Donald Albert. Ted was a skillful carpenter and he built many homes in Southern Saskatchewan until he moved to Alberta to build mobile homes. In 1962, they moved to Lethbridge where Ted became plant Superintendent and Assistant Manager of HaiCo Manufacturing (Wickes Canada) where they built recreational vehicles. Ted retired in 1983. Evelyn struggled with her health and passed away on January 1, 1984. Ted moved to Medicine Hat to be near family in 2010. He was known for his deep love for God and his sense of humor.

Ted is survived by his two sons: Rev. Ken (Carol) Roset and Don (Bonni) Roset; six grandchildren: Cherlynn (Ryan) Wiest, Kevin (Shannon) Roset, Jason (Kerry) Roset, Janelle (David) Haitel, Graeme (Esther) Roset, Morgan (Daniel) Hargrave; nine great grandchildren: Jaelynn and Kamryn Wiest, Jada and Carter Roset, Axel and Raven Roset, Reagan, Danica and Ariana Haitel. Ted is survived by two of his sisters, O’Della Giesbrecht and Gladys Roset; one brother-in-law, Herb Markwart; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Ted was predeceased by his wife: Evelyn; sister, Hazel Forge; and brothers: Chester, Oscar and Wilfred Roset. Ted will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all of his family and friends.

SHOLOGAN, Patrick Wililam

Patrick William Shologan of Rochester, AB, beloved husband to Melody, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the age of 61 years. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Melody; sons Mark (Joanne), Keith (Anna), daughter Tara Wenstob (Doug); 8 grandchildren Lee, Faith, Cassie, Haylee, Jayce, William, Samuel, Benjamin; sister Sandra Baceda; mother-in-law Phyllis Handley; brothers-in-law Ron Handley (Melina), Roger Handley (Cathy); uncles and aunts; nieces and nephews; and many friends. He was predeceased by two daughters, Dana and Laura; his parents Norma and Peter Shologan; his sister Bonni Shologan; and brother-in-law Remo Baceda. With heavy hearts we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of MEL WALDNER. Mel is survived by his father Arnold Waldner of Manitoba, brothers, Joe, Arnold (Mary Ann), Ed (Lesley) of Lethbridge and Harold (Kathryn) and sisters Margie, Kathleen, Susan and their husbands of Manitoba.

He will be greatly missed by his nephew Trent Waldner and his nieces Alyssa, Sage and Sian Waldner of Lethbridge as well as special cousins, Jerry and Sharon

(Annie and Jeremy) Waldner and many nephews and nieces in Manitoba.

He was predeceased by his loving mother Margaret Waldner.

Mel was well known in the construction industry, working alongside his brothers with their concrete businesses.
