SHARON ANNE BEEBE (NEE PARD) – “AAPOYAKII” passed away peacefully at the Cardston Health Centre in Cardston on March 1, 2016 at the age of 65 years, surrounded by her family.

Sharon is survived by her children – Willis (Sonya) Beebe, Theresa Beebe, Lewis (Cheryl) Beebe. Todd (Tina) Beebe; 21 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother Bedford (Karen) Pard.

A Wake Service will be held at the Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve on Sunday, March 6th from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. continuing all night at Sharon’s residence. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Brocket on Monday, March 7th at 11:00 a.m. with Father Roy Jayamaha Officiating. Interment in the Brocket Cemetery.

BREWIN

Gerald Grimshaw Brewin, beloved husband of Margaret Luise Brewin, father of Derek Gerald Brewin (Colette Forseille), Mark Winston Brewin (Jane Bowerfind), and Kathleen Margaret Brewin Oxford (Melvin Oxford), grandfather of Zoë Margaret Brewin, Harper Strong Brewin, and McCoy Gerald Oxford, died Sunday, February 21, at The Gardens senior home in Qualicum Beach, British Columbia.

A memorial service will be held at St. Theodore’s Anglican Church, 5120 44 Ave., Taber, at 2 PM, March 6; following the service a wake will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall, 5203 48 Ave., Taber.


BUTLIN

1922 – 2016

JACK BUTLIN, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Jean Butlin, who predeceased him last year, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Tuesday, March 1st, 2016 at the age of 93 years.

Beloved father of two sons, Barry (Rosanne) of Mill Bay, B.C., and Bruce (Brenda) of Trail, B.C. He is also the beloved stepfather of Deeidra Ott of Lethbridge.

He is survived by six grandchildren, two great- grandchildren, two brothers, one sister and many nieces and nephews.

Jack is predeceased by one sister, three brothers and his parents.

Cremation entrusted to Cornerstone Funeral Home. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at the Magrath Cemetery at a later date.

d’ENTREMONT

GEORGE EDWARD d’ENTREMONT, beloved husband of Norma Mae d’Entremont, of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Monday, February 8, 2016 at the age of 74 years.

Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his daughter Leigh-Ann (Vlad) Wasylechko, granddaughters Cassandra and Ashleigh, grandson Michael and great granddaughter, Aaliyah. George is also survived by numerous relatives in Nova Scotia. He was predeceased by his parents Margaret and Charles d’Entremont.

George was born on July 26th, 1941 and was raised in Pubnico, Nova Scotia. He joined the military in 1959 for 3 years. While in the military George was transferred to Calgary. In the early 1960’s he worked for Calgary Power. In 1964 George met Norma and they were married in 1966. They had one daughter, Leigh-Ann, in 1968. George was transferred to Sherwood Park in 1975 where he worked with Trans Alta. There, George received a Gold Hat award for the top safety professional in his field in 1987. He was with Trans Alta till he retired. George and Norma spent most of their retirement at Skelton Lake in Boyle, AB, until moving to Lethbridge to be closer to their daughter and family.

Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family for a Celebration of his Life at the LOYAL ORDER OF MOOSE HALL – 1401 5th Avenue North, Lethbridge, AB. on Sunday May 22nd, 2016 from 1:00 – 5:00 P.M.

Our precious mother, nanna and great nanna passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 in Taber at the age of 85 years..

Mum leaves behind her son Ian (Cristina) Tilling of Brussels, daughter Lynne (Paul) Chapple of Taber; grandchildren Andrew (Caterina) Tilling of Italy, Peter Tilling of England, Mary (Alex) Shears of England, Terry (Crystal) Chapple of Taber, Tracey Chapple of Lethbridge, Caryanne (Chad) Fletcher of Lethbridge and Manny (Nick) DeLeeuw of Coaldale. She also leaves behind her treasured great grandchildren Brayden, Makayla, Ethan, Taylor, Dylon, Rylee, Bella, Bailey, Taylor, Dawson, Nicole, Megan, Frankie and Dani; former daughter-in-law Celia Tilling of England as well as her wonderful friend Andrew Prokop who loved mum just as much as we all did.
Doreen was predeceased by her husband Charles Tilling and her grandson John Tilling.
Doreen came to Canada in 2012 to live with her daughter and Canadian family at the age of 82 years of age, what a woman.
Mum was a very active person and joined the bowling team in Taber and enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Centre with all her new friends. Mum also wanted to thank the many, many friends she made while living in Taber especially at the bowling club, Seniors Centre, Signature Point and at the A&W.
The family would like to thank very much Dr. Oviatt, Dr. Leishman and Gina, Dr. Smut and Carol for the care and compassion given to mum in her time of need.

Sarah Hofer

March 29, 1917 – March 3, 2016

“Aunt” Sarah Hofer, of Raymond, Alberta, passed away peacefully at her home. She was just 26 days short of reaching her 99th birthday, but her mind was as still as sharp as could be!

She was born in Yale, South Dakota to John and Barbara Hofer and they moved to southern Alberta when she was one-year-old

Sarah was a faithful member of the Stirling Mennonite Church. She will be lovingly remembered for her hard work and unselfish nature, and she was a friend to everyone she met.

In addition to her loving sister Anne Hofer, Sarah is survived by her two sister-in-laws; Carolyn (Jacob) Hofer of Stirling and Wilma (Paul) Hofer of Raymond, plus numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by six brothers and five sisters.

The family would like to express our warmest thanks to the doctors, nurses and home – care staff of the Raymond Hospital for their excellent care! A heartfelt thank you to Linda Ulrich for her loving care in the last six months. We also extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who gave of their time and talents to meet the daily needs that arose.

HORVAT

PATRICIA MARIA HORVAT (nee Eichhorn), beloved travelling companion of Patrick Horvat, and loving mother of Samuel and Matthew Horvat, passed away at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Centre on Sunday, February 28th, 2016 at the age of 55 years, where she succumbed to complications from metastasized colon cancer.

Besides her loving husband and sons, she is also survived by her brother Robert Eichhorn of Vancouver, B.C., step-sons Jason, Allan (Ashley) and Bryan Horvat, all of Lethbridge, AB., her grandchildren Brandon Reid, Julia Maria Horvat and Morgan and Grayson Horvat as well as her parents-in-law Frank and Shirley Horvat of Calgary, AB. She will be dearly missed by all of Patrick’s family “Her Outlaws”, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins in Germany of the Eichhorn and Wichmann families.

She was predeceased by her parents Bruno and Maria, brother Wolfgang and her Sassy Dog.

Arlene Kremenik

1960 – 2016

Arlene Susan Kremenik, beloved wife of Erich Kremenik and mother to Jessica and Andrea Kremenik passed away peacefully at St. Mike’s Palliative after bravely battling a lengthy illness, on February 29, 2016.

Born June 20, 1960 to Alexander and Rose Karpiuk, Arlene grew up in New Dayton, AB with three sisters and two brothers. In her youth and beyond she excelled in sports such as baseball, curling and bowling. After graduating from Warner High School in 1978 Arlene moved to Lethbridge, AB where she met and married Erich in 1984. Their family grew with the addition of two daughters while she worked part-time as a receptionist. She enjoyed spending most of her time in the company of family and friends, playing cards, baking, cooking and dancing the night away to her favorite local group the Chevelles.

Arlene is survived by her husband Erich Kremenik, daughters Jessica and Andrea Kremenik. Sisters, Sharon(Bryan) Oliver, Shirley(Larry) Sera, Janice(Dave) Racz and her brothers, Rick(Bonnie)Karpiuk and James Karpiuk. She will also be deeply missed by special friends, Barb Snyder, Darlene Aubin and Peter John Scott along with all of the Kremenik in-laws and both families nephews, nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by her father Alex Karpiuk, who we know will greet her with open arms.

Arlene was born into a big family in a small town and it is due to her hometown and family that we attribute her outstanding strength of character and her quick sense of humour. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a fun-loving, compassionate, creative, organized and hardworking wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend- who always had the ability to make connections with people easily.

In loving memory of Mr. Bill (Frederick William Stokes) Laue Jr. who passed away on March 2, 2016, after losing his battle with cancer, at the age of 59.

Bill was predeceased by his first wife, Judy Laue, his mother and father, sister Robyn Kelpesky, son little Billy and nephew Bobby Lucera.

Bill is survived by his wife Tracy Laue, his children April, Adam, Alex, Austin and Amy Laue and Justin Henwood, his stepchildren Destiny Hartel, Lisa and Derek Duckworth, sisters Sandy McDevitt, Debbie Strong, numerous grandchildren and many more family members and his Canadian Family.

He was loved by all who had the great experience of knowing him. He will be missed by all.

Passed away on February 29th 2016 at the age of 73. Daughter of the late George Edwards Lyons and the late Ilene Betts. Loving wife of Ted Strang, loving mother of Richard (Andrea), Sheri Albers (Paul), Tracy Spackman (Carl), Lauri Evanitski (John), Catherine Morrison (Richard), Victoria Amira and Lesli Harker (Tom). Mr. Peter Neufeldt of Coaldale, beloved husband of Mrs. Edna Neufeldt, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the age of 79 years.

Randy Reurink

1961 – 2016

Randy Reurink, father of Jordan (Kaylin) and Aaron (Kirsten) Reurink, passed away peacefully at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Unit on Monday, February 29, 2016 at the age of 54 years.

Surviving are his mother Steina; brothers Ron (Marty), Doug, Quentin (Sylvia), Mike (Vicki) and Tracy (Tanya) Reurink; as well as twelve nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his father Hank Reurink.

Randy was born on June 25, 1961 in Picture Butte, and spent his life with Diana Gabriel, raising their family. Randy is a founding partner of Hanks Feedmill Service, which he ran with his brothers until the time of his passing.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of St. Michael’s Hospital – Palliative Unit, for their tireless and compassionate care and many acts of kindness.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th St. S., Lethbridge, AB, with Interment to follow in the Huntsville Cemetery. A Reception will then take place at the Iron Springs Christian Reformed Fellowship Hall.
