1921 – 2016

Mrs. Anne Slater, of Coaldale, beloved wife of the late Sidney Slater, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2015 at the age of 93 years. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at MOUNTAIN VIEW CEMETERY, Lethbridge AB., with Father Ian Gagne, officiating.

Ella Irene Livingston McColl passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the age of 89 years.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, April 22, 2016 at the FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, 1614 5 Ave. S., Lethbridge, AB, with Dr. Bruce Martin officiating.

FLETCHER

NYAL ALSTON FLETCHER, beloved husband of the late Matilda Freda Phillips Fletcher, passed away at the Raymond Health Centre on Friday, April 15, 2016 at the age of 99 years.

His family consists of four children: Glenn (Charlotte) Fletcher, Allen (Elaine) Fletcher, Nyalene (Tim) Watson and Janet (Vernon) Jubber, 21 grandchildren, 79 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.

Friends may meet the family prior to the service on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Funeral Services will be held at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Magrath Stake Centre, Magrath, AB, on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Michael Orr officiating. Interment to follow in the Magrath Cemetery.

Mr. Jack Irvine of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Peggy Irvine, passed away at the Good Samaritans on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at the age of 80 years.

MRS. CORNELIA KOCKEN

With sorrow we announce that the Lord in His Divine Providence has taken out of the midst of our family our dear mother, grandmother and great- grandmother Cornelia Kocken, beloved wife of the late Bernardus (Ben) Kocken, at Piyami Place on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at the age of 78 years.

Born in the Netherlands on January 25, 1938, the late Mrs. Kocken immigrated with her family to Canada in April of 1966 settling in Lethbridge. They later moved to Fort Macleod but after the death of her husband in 1991, she moved back to Lethbridge and then settled in Coalhurst.

Cornelia is survived by her five children: Bernardina (Peter) Van Horssen; Ellen (Pete) Grisnich; Tom (Kimberly) Kocken; Treena (Paul) Neels; and Hannah (Nathan) Koppert; her 36 grandchildren and 22 great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Ann, Susanna, Elaine, Alida, Hendrik and Bert. Besides her loving husband she was predeceased by her parents Peter and Lena Herfst, her parents in-law Gijsbertus and Catharina Kocken, four brothers – Jan, Arie, Hugo and Ken and a grandson Joel Grisnich.

Opportunity for condolences will be held from 7:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. On Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Lethbridge Netherlands Reformed Congregation Church, RR8-28-11, Lethbridge, AB.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday April 23, 2016 at the Fort Macleod Netherlands Reformed Church, 2608 – 7th Avenue, Fort Macleod, AB with Rev. A. A. Brugge officiating.

MICHAEL RABBIT, husband of Lorraine, passed away in Cardston on April 18, 2016 at the age of 49 years.

A Wake Service will be held at the Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve on Wednesday, April 27th from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, South Hill Chapel, Cardston on Thursday, April 28th at 11:00 a.m.

THOMAS LADELL SANDERS, loving father of Shanon and Bill, passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre, on Saturday, March 26, 2016 after a brief battle with cancer at the age of 63 years.

A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held at THE LETHBRIDGE SENIOR CITIZENS ORGANIZATION, 500-11th Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta, on Saturday, April 23, 2016, from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

WOODWARD

KEN LAVELL WOODWARD, beloved fiancée of Judy Bascom of Lethbridge, passed away at Edmonton University Hospital on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the age of 45 years.

He is the loving father of CJ of Nanaimo.

Ken is also survived by fiancée Judy Bascom, her daughter Kelly (Aaron) Bruised Head, mother Judy (Dick) Turner, father Ray (Jackalene) Woodward, brother Will (Laurette) and daughters Eden and Kyleigh, brother Ryan; stepbrothers: Clay (Pat) Wills, Ed (Susan) Wills, Clark (Karen) Wills and their families.

He is predeceased by son Braydon.

Ken was born June 13, 1970 at Hay River, NWT. He graduated from Lloydminster High School. He worked for 22 years for Time Air and Jazz in Nanaimo and Kamloops in various positions, then moved on to airport maintenance in Norman Wells and the high Arctic. At the time of his passing he was employed with CBO as an airfield technician. Ken and Judy had met as children at family gatherings. In 2013, their love blossomed and he moved to Lethbridge. Ken shared that same love with Judy’s daughter Kelly and her husband Aaron. His son CJ was his buddy and he treasured the weekly contact that they had. Ken was a loving man with a big heart and a smile for everyone. He was outgoing and friendly and would help anyone out. He left an imprint on everyone he met.

We appreciate the wonderful generosity of Ken’s employers, and the kind support of family and friends.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, COPPERWOOD CHAPEL, 9 Keystone Terrace West, Lethbridge.

Friends may meet the family on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the LDS – COPPERWOOD CHAPEL, Lethbridge, or prior to the funeral service on Saturday from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m.

Interment to follow in the Archmount Cemetery.
