1940 – 2016

Mrs. Helen Dikun, beloved wife of the late Mike Dikun, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the age of 76 years.

A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at SS. PETER & PAUL UKRANIAN GREEK CATHOLIC CHURCH, 643-12 B St. N., Lethbridge, AB.

DOUGHERTY, Shirley Eileen

It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Shirley Dougherty in Calgary, AB on Saturday, July 23, 2016 in her 96th year. Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Gail (John) Kruchkywich, Pat Laughlin (Gordon Bevan), son-in-law Bob Magliocco, grandchildren, Wayne (Marilyn)Dougherty, Brett Schillinger, Shari (Rick) Pierce, Rick (Angela) Maglicco, Shelley (Glen) Bridarolli, Kevin (Sara-Jeanne) Kruchkywich, Maggie Schillinger and her 11 great-grandchildren. Shirley was predeceased by her husband Charlie Dougherty, daughter Sharron Magliocco, sisters Doris MacDonald, Thelma Agar- Wrightson and her brother Harvey Gullekson. POULIN

VALERIE POULIN, of Lethbridge, passed away at St. Michael’s Care Centre on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the age of 65 years.

She was born in Toronto, Ontario, on June 14, 1951. Valerie was a gifted and passionate grandmother and scrapbooker. Her greatest love, however, was her Lord and Saviour Jesus, who she served through her beloved church as an active member of the St. Martha’s Catholic Church community.

Valerie is survived by her sister Bev (Jack) Mayes, her children, Vanessa Poulin, Lindsay (Shawn) Klein, Danny (Mel) Poulin and Jesse Poulin as well as 11 grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Prayer Service at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB., on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 6:00 P.M. with Deacon Michael Pollard officiating.

Mr. Gordon Schmitt, beloved husband of the late Jean Schmitt, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2016 at the age of 85 years.

WILSON

KATHRYN EHLERT WILSON, beloved wife of Robert E. Wilson passed away peacefully on Friday, July 22, 2016 at the age of 64 in Raymond, AB.

Kathy was born in Lethbridge on December 6, 1951 to Henry and Margaret (McBride) Ehlert. She is survived by her children; Jason (Lisa) Comin of Cardston, Heather (Kevin) Schnurr of Strathmore and Otto (Megan) Comin of Katy, TX, step-children Amanda Barnbrook, Chris Sayner, Stacey Arsenault, Allyson Bradly and Jason Wilson, 37 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Joanne (Ferrin) Killian of Magrath, Richard (Karen) of Houston, Monte (Roger) Rydalch of Rexburg, Jim (Sharon) of Lethbridge, and Marilyn Gurney of Magrath. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Robert “Buster”, brother-in-law Wayne Gurney, step- children Sheri Jensen and Shane Wilson and a granddaughter Robyn Comin.

Kathy was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved being involved in family history including serving in many family history related callings and at the Raymond Family History Centre. She will be remembered for her welcoming smile, unending generosity and sense of humour. We could not have asked for a better, more caring or loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Friends may meet the family in Raymond, Alberta at the Knight Street Chapel, ONLY on Tuesday, July 26th, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The Funeral service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Knight Street Chapel, Raymond, AB on Wednesday, July 27th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond.

WITBECK

Our dear uncle and favourite gardener has left us. DR. TOM O’BRIEN WITBECK passed away on July 22, 2016 in Taber, AB following a brief illness.

Born in Magrath, AB on February 15, 1926 to Hampton and Angelina (Dot), he had a happy childhood with his older sister Nadine and younger brother Alan Reid (Pete) in Raymond AB.

Tom’s sense of humour was unique. He learned the value and reward of hard work. Upon high school graduation, Tom attended the University of Alberta in Edmonton where he completed his studies in dentistry in 1949. Tom returned to Southern Alberta where he practiced dentistry for over 40 years in Lethbridge. A dentist by profession, Tom enjoyed traveling, photography and gardening. In his later years he entered his flowers, produce and photos in the Raymond & District Agricultural Society Fall Fair and took home dozens of ribbons. He was always 1st place in our hearts! His devotion belonged to Raymond where he loved serving and supporting the people of his community.

Tom leaves a legacy to be celebrated by his nephews and nieces Peter (Janice) Price of Taber AB; Richard (Mona) Price of Calgary AB; Jill Young of West Jordan, Utah; Von ( Kerrie) Witbeck of Las Vegas, NV and Anne Witbeck Jackson of Las Vegas, NV along with their children and grandchildren. The family wishes to express appreciation to the many Doctors and Caregivers who lovingly provided the care Tom needed at the Raymond and Taber Hospitals and the staff at The Good Samaritan Society ( Linden View) in Taber.

The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taylor Street Chapel, Raymond 3rd Ward, on

Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 2:00 pm, with Bishop Noel Smith officiating. Friends may meet the family at the church prior to the service from 12:45 to 1:45 pm.

Interment will follow in the Temple Hill Cemetery.
