August 4, 1940 – Rainy River, Ontario

October 7, 2016 – Lethbridge,

Alberta

Roger passed away peacefully after a long battle with various illnesses.

Roger was predeceased by his parents Amie Alan and Violet Martha (Martin) Mann, infant daughter Desiree, son Bradley and his wife Lynda.

In keeping with Roger’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.

GEORGE

MAGDALENA GEORGE, beloved wife of Robert George of Lethbridge, passed away at the St. Michael’s Health Centre – Palliative Care Unit on September 27, 2016 at the age of 62 years.

Besides her loving husband, Maggie is survived by her children, Catherine (Kristopher) McLaughlin and their children, Joseph and Erin, all of Lethbridge, Laura George, of Calgary and Allison George, of Calgary; her brother, Istvan (Hilda) Gyenes and their children and grandchildren, and Istvan’s mother, Istvanne Gyenes; her parents-in-law, James and Mary George; her brother-in-law, David (Lorie) George and their children and grandchildren, and her sister-in-law, Iboly Gyenes and her children, and sister-in-law Dorothy George.

Maggie was predeceased by her mother, Anna Hango; her father, Istvan Gyenes; her grandparents, Paul and Anna Hango; her special uncle, Peter Bendzsak, and her brother, Sandor Gyenes.

A Memorial Service will be held at SOUTHMINSTER UNITED CHURCH – 1011 4 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 4:30 P.M. with Reverend James Grunden officiating.

The family would like to thank the medical and support staff of Unit 57 of the Foothills Medical Centre, the Bone Marrow Transplant Clinic of Tom Baker Cancer Centre and St. Michael’s Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit for their compassionate care.

Gerald “Gerry” Winter

1927 – 2016

Mr. Gerald “Gerry” Winter of Lethbridge, AB passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 6, 2016 with Dorothy Winter, his beloved wife of 67 years, by his side. Gerry was 89 years of age. Gerry is survived by his son Gary (Pat) Winter and grandchildren Trevor and Karla (Craig); son Bob (Katharine) and his faithful dog, Taffy. Gerry’s family would like to thank the staff at Good Sam’s West Highlands for their wonderful care and compassion. At Gerry’s request, no formal funeral service will be held. Cremation has taken place.

PRICE

TEENA PRICE, beloved wife of Brian Price and mother of Brianne, of Lethbridge, passed away at the St. Michael’s Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit, on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the age of 53 years.

She leaves behind her loving husband Brian and daughter Brianne. Teena is survived by her brothers Paul (Liz), George (Joan), Gerry (Karen), mother and father-in-law Roy and Violet Price, brother-in-law Geoff (Shelley), sisters-in-law Colette (Randy), Karren (Robert), as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father and mother Wes and Jean Williams as well as special sister in-law Bonnie Williams.

Teena was born on November 9, 1962 in Orangeville, Ontario and came west with her family in 1975. Throughout her working career, she held various jobs and recently completed 10 years as a loans officer with Lethbridge Legion Savings and Credit Union. There she made many friends and truly enjoyed working with the members and her colleagues. She was a loving mother and wife who didn’t believe in procrastination, if something needed to be done, it was. Teena enjoyed camping and many summer vacations were spent relaxing in the beauty of Glacier National Park, Montana. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 5:00 P.M.

Scheibner

Doris May Scheibner of Brooks, Alberta, passed away on October 4, 2016 at the Brooks Health Centre, Brooks, at the age of 95 years. She was born in Sedgewick, Alberta to parents Ray and Christina Davis on January 2, 1921. After finishing Normal School in Edmonton, Doris taught school in Alberta for several years before marrying Lawrence Scheibner of Gem, Alberta on April 10, 1947. She continued to teach until 1950. Doris and Lawrence farmed in Gem, until retiring to Lethbridge where they lived for 30 years. They then moved to Brooks and resided at the Orchard Manor. She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence Scheibner, her brothers Roy and Ray Davis and sisters-in-law Merna and Anne Davis. Doris is survived by her children Laurie (Gordon Reimer), Lee (Arlene), Glen (Linda), Mark (Claudia), and Dean (Debbie) and grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her brothers Grant (Joyce), Ernie (Thora) and Neville (Mary) and by sisters-in-law Verna Davis and Betty Scheibner. Our family would like to thank the caregivers and residents at the Orchard Manor, who made Mom part of their family, and thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Brooks Health Centre for their kindness and compassion during Moms final days. A family graveside to take place in Calgary.

Mikolaj “Mike” Seniec

1922 – 2016

Mr. Mikolaj “Mike” Seniec of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Albertina Seniec, passed away peacefully at the St. Therese Villa on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the age of 94 years. Mike was born June 22, 1922 in Korbyn, Poland. He enjoyed the last seven years at St. Therese Villa, where he was shown much kindness and love. He was predeceased by his wife Albertina; his granddaughter Kaley; and brother Walter. Left to carry on are his son Wasyl; grandson Jeff; and 5 great- grandchildren. SULLIVAN

July 8, 1936 – October 3, 2016

ANNA MARIE SULLIVAN (nee Campbell), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday, October 3, 2016 at the age of 80 years.

Anna Marie was predeceased by her husband of 40 years Eugene Sullivan, and is lovingly remembered by her children and grandchildren: Agnes (Kirk) (Khason, Carter, Ethan) Livingston and Jacinta (Ian) (Aidan, Gabriel, Blake) Miller of Lethbridge; Mary Sullivan of Sherwood Park; Desmond (Karen) (Conor, Madeleine, Siobhan) Sullivan of Calgary. Anna Marie is also survived by her siblings Ernest (Virginia) Campbell and Charles (Eva) Campbell of Ontario and Helena (Norman) Arsenault of P.E.I. She was predeceased by her sister Agnes Myrtle Campbell, brother Francis Campbell and parents, James and Hannah (Duffy) Campbell.

Anna Marie was born July 8th, 1936 in Westmoreland, Prince Edward Island. She spent her early years growing up on the family farm, attended Prince of Wales College and later obtained her teaching certificate. After teaching in P.E.I. from 1956-1960, the desire to pursue her teaching career pushed her west to Alberta where she began working in a rural school in Cluny, Alberta. It was at this time Anna Marie met her future husband Eugene, also from Prince Edward Island.

Eugene and Anna Marie married on December 30, 1961 in Carstairs, Alberta. They relocated to Calgary shortly thereafter to start their family and their construction companies, Eugene Sullivan Building Ltd. and Starlight Enterprises. Working as a team, Anna Marie and Eugene continued their life path with moves to Lethbridge and then Phoenix, Arizona. The lure of family and friends brought them back to Lethbridge in 1981, where they resided for the remainder of their married life.

Anna Marie’s strong faith, compassion and selflessness touched many lives. She was a sincere advocate of community, charity and volunteerism, engaging both time and resources in the Terry Fox Run, Al-Anon, Meals on Wheels, the Catholic Women’s League, the John Howard Society and Cancer Centers for many years. We will truly miss the loving influence she had in all of our lives.

A Prayer Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME – 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 7:00 P.M., with Deacon Ray Wagner, officiant.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH – 2405 12 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 2:00 P.M., with Father Kevin Tumback, Celebrant.

Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

A Reception will follow at COUNTRY KITCHEN CATERING – 1715 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB.

WASYLISHEN

JEAN WASYLISHEN (CHALMERS), of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the age of 87 years.

Jean is survived by her husband Paul Thibault, her three daughters

Loretta (Victor) Saly of Edmonton, Judy (Don) Chervinski of Lethbridge, and Sheila (Herman) OldeHeuvel of Brooks. Jean is also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren Jason and Tracy Saly (Jenna), Reagan and Brian Young (Nathan, Alex and Shelby), David Chervinski, Alisa and Chris Beddome (Eva and Liv), Tara and Jeremy Shand (Deegan and Kavanaugh), as well as her sister in-laws Eunice (John) Molden and Betty Chalmers.

Jean was predeceased by her husband Stan Wasylishen, her three sisters May, Margaret and Lily and her brother Keith.

Jean was born to Lily and George Chalmers on September 21, 1929, in Primate, Saskatchewan. She was raised in Clandonald, AB until she met Stan, and they started a family of their own in Lethbridge, AB.

Jean was an active member of the First United Church in Lethbridge, AB for over 65 years where she met and surrounded herself with lifelong friends. Her sense of humour, strength and kind heart will be forever cherished by the family she now watches over.

A Celebration of Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, Alberta, on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Eva Stanley officiating.
