ELTON J. DUELL, of Lethbridge, beloved spouse of Norma Duncan, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, March 12th, 2017 at the age of 92 years.
A Celebration of Elton’s Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Brian Magee officiating.
A Private Family Interment will be held prior to the Celebration of Life.

LOUIS SHIELDS SCHUMERS, passed away on Thursday March 9, 2017 at the age of 91 years.
He is survived by his loving wife Donna and 8 children. Christine (Wilf (deceased)) Sparkes, Pat Schumers, Shirley (Steve) Ogle, Rebecca (Peter) Christensen, Chriss (Ruth) Milner, Bart (deceased)(JoAnne) Milner, Melanie (Brett) Hansen, James Milner, Paige (Herb) ZoBell, with 28 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by parents Clarence and Jenny Schumers (Housley), stepfather John Housley, wife Mary Heninger Schumers, son-in-law Wilf Sparkes, son Bart Milner and grandsons Tyler Hansen and Leland Christensen.
He served in the Canadian Navy during WWII and fulfilled church callings, including a mission to Victoria, B.C. with Donna.
Being a homebody, Lou loved making his home beautiful and comfy for family and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, March 15th, 2017 at 11:00am, at the CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS, Highway 5, Welling, AB.
Friends may meet the family Tuesday March 14th from 7:00 to 8:00pm at the Church, or prior to the funeral service on Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45am.

SHERRINGTON
PATRICIA SHERRINGTON passed away in Lethbridge on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the age of 84 following a battle with cancer. Pat is survived by her beloved family – daughters Doreen Anton (Blaine Sandau), Linda Seitz (Mervin), Holly Morris, Gailene Morris, and Roxanne Naismith; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, as well as stepdaughter Jackie Patey and family of Calgary. She was predeceased by husband(s) Eldon Morris (1962), Percy Sherrington (1977), and Jack Patey (1991), brother Samuel Elford (2011), grandson James Anton (1992), and sons-in-law Steve Naismith (2012) and Donald Rollack (2014). As per Pat’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. A family gathering and celebration of life will take place at a later date.

A Family Service will be at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston on Thurs., March 16th at 5:00 p.m. followed by the Wake Service at the Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve from 7:00 – 11:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be at the Senator Gladstone Hall on Friday, March 17th at 11:00 a.m. Interment in St. Paul’s Cemetery.

WELZEL
LYDIA ELFRIEDA WELZEL passed away on March 9, 2017.
Lydia was born in Germany on May 20, 1927 and was the oldest of eight children. On March 22, 1952 Lydia married Bernfried Welzel and in the fall of 1955, they moved to Coaldale with their young daughter. Their twins, a son and daughter, followed later that year. In 1967, the family moved to Lethbridge.
Lydia enjoyed gardening, playing board and dice games, but reading was her greatest passion. She also took pleasure in afternoon socials, playing cards with the neighbourhood ladies. Camping and fishing were activities that Lydia and her family loved to do together. Lydia always had a positive outlook on life and was known for her cheerful attitude and friendly smile.
In 2009, Lydia retired to The View in Lethbridge. The activities and new friendships made it a lovely place she called home. Thank you to Lydia’s friends and family at The View who made her later years so pleasurable.
Lydia now joins her late husband Bernfried.
She is lovingly remembered by her 3 children; Lydia (Byron) Freel, Ralph (Loretta) Welzel, Rita (Wayne) Weiland; 12 grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to a charity of choice.
A private family Memorial Service will take place at a later date.
