WHITE

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Darrell Fredrick White, beloved husband of Ruth, and father to Amanda (Clinton) Cervo and Ella White on February 5, 2018 at the age of 61. Darrell is survived by his mother, Marion, his brothers Dennis and Gordon, his sister Janice, their families and numerous extended family. Darrell was born in Hartney, Manitoba and raised in Hay River, NWT until the family moved back to Hartney to the family farm. In adulthood he moved back to Hay River where he met and married his wife Ruth. They and their new family lived in Hay River until relocating to the Lethbridge area in 1988. Darrell was a passionate man. He loved and was committed to his family and his friends. He loved his golf (most of the time) and even curled his way to the provincial finals more than once for the NWT team. There was nothing he was not willing to try to fix and he loved working with his hands. He enjoyed being outdoors whether it was camping, fishing or even just to mow the lawn. When inside Darrell could be found restoring his antique truck or watching golf, curling or whatever sport was the flavor of the moment. Darrell loved to travel and he and Ruth enjoyed many trips over the last number of years seeing new places and making new acquaintances. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Coalhurst Fire Department for many years, and while in Hay River, a proud member of the Elks, committing many hours to the community. Darrell will be sorely missed by family and friends, but definitely not forgotten. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the MS Society of Canada.

The Funeral will be held at the Evangelical Free Church of Lethbridge, 4717 24 Ave S on Saturday February 17th at 1 pm.
