KATHLYNN BAD EAGLE

Young, beautiful, and fun-loving – these are a few words that describe Kathlynn Bad Eagle who passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 8, 2018, in Fort Macleod, AB.

A Prayer Service at Snodgrass Funeral Home (Pincher Creek) will be held at 10:00 am, following by a Catholic Mass at St. Paul’s Church in Brocket at 11:00 am with Fr. Roy Jayamaha, Celebrant. A two-day Wake to take place at Eddie and Jocelyn Bad Eagle’s residence in Brocket, commencing after the Catholic Mass.

The Funeral Service will be held at the Piikani Community Hall at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 17, 2018, with Peter Strikes With A Gun & Fr. Roy Jayamaha officiating, followed by the burial at Fairview Cemetery in Pincher Creek.

BEYER

LIANE BEYER, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the St. Michael’s Health Centre – Palliative Care Unit, on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the age of 83 years.

Vi Collins
1928 – 2018
Viola Collins, beloved wife of the late Clarence Collins, passed away peacefully at the Good Samaritan Linden View Care Centre in Taber on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the age of 89 years.

Vi is survived by her three children Emery (Diana) Collins of Burdett and their children LesleyAnn Collins (Dustin), Dalton (Kristi) Collins, Andrew (Heidi) Collins and Traci (Perry) Stephenson; Cliff (Scarlett) Collins of Taber and their children Kali (Kyle) Paterson and Janae (Matt) Redgrave; Pam (Brian) Moen of Bow Island and their children Melissa (Travis) Hauer, Robyn (Cam) Feltin and Morgan (Kaylah) Moen. She is also survived by her sisters Maxine Parkyn and June Ellis; sisters-in-law Angela Morgan and Saundra Morgan; brother-in-law Dick Parkyn. Vi was a cherished wife, mother, sister and much loved Grandma Vi “GG” to her grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, caring auntie to numerous nieces and nephews and dear friend to many.
She was predeceased by her husband Clarence; parents Bob and Anne Morgan; sister Dorothy Skelton; brothers Bob Morgan, Ronald Morgan and Floyd Morgan; sister-in-law Juanny Morgan; brothers-in-law Ray Skelton and Ted Ellis.
Vi lived with her family in a number of communities in southern Alberta, including Burdett, where she met Clarence. They resided  on the farm southeast of Burdett. In addition to being a kindhearted mother and hard working farm wife, Vi became an accomplished hairdresser and friend to generations of families. She styled hair in Bow Island and then for many years in Vi’s Beauty Shop which was located in the original farmhouse.
Vi will forever be remembered for her caring heart and love of family and friends. She was a talented artist whose amazing paintings adorn the walls of homes of family and friends. Vi also enjoyed fishing, camping, travelling, curling, pets and her lovely yard. She was a kind, compassionate, beautiful woman with a wonderful sense of humour. Vi will always be remembered and deeply missed.

DAY RIDER

VERNON EDWARD DAY RIDER, beloved son of Johnny (Ma Aggy) Day Rider and the late Verna Mae Day Rider nee Vielle, passed away on March 9th, 2018 at the age of 39 years.

A Wake Service will be held at the White Calf Hall, Stand Off on Friday, March 16th from 5:00 – 11:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be at the White Calf Hall on Saturday, March 17th at 12:00 noon.

HOLZWARTH

CHRISTIAN (CHRIS) HOLZWARTH, passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord, at Park Meadows Good Samaritan’s in Lethbridge, Alberta on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at the age of 82.

Born on November 20, 1935, at Wischenovka, Romania. At a young age, Chris and his family, having gone through the turmoil of WW2, wound up in East Germany and later fled to West Germany. In 1955 the family immigrated to Raymond, Alberta to work in the sugar beets. Chris found work in road construction as a heavy equipment operator.

Chris is survived by his four sons, Robert (Gwen) of Okotoks, Alberta, Roger (Rose) of Barrie, Ontario, Gordon (Gina) of Mississauga, Ontario, Troy (Faye) of Garden River, Ontario, 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister Wilma (Tony) Baumstark, brother Fred (Darlene) Holzwarth, sister Hilda (John) Weing, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Chris was an avid curler, loved sports and was passionate about politics. He was on the Cardston PC Constituency Executive.

The family would like to thank the staff at Garden Vista Good Samaritan’s and Park Meadows Good Samaritan’s for their kind and compassionate care, especially the staff in Cottage #5.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive, Lethbridge, Alberta on Friday, March 16, 2018, at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Jeremy Richert officiating.

There will be a Private Family Interment at the Magrath Cemetery.

PHIL STORY, beloved husband of the late Lois Story, passed away at Fairmont Extendicare on Monday, March 12, 2018 at the age of 92 years.

A Celebration of Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 11:00 A.M.
