CLARK

Ross Ellingson Clark, age 83, died on June 3, 2018, in Raymond, Alberta. Ross is survived by his wife, Myrna, and his daughters, Beth Johnson-Richardsen, Roxsane Fox, Cindy Simonson, Tricia Bravender, 18 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren . He is preceded in death by his parents, Abiah James Clark and Ora Mary Ellingson, and his son Bradley (BJ).

Ross was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, on January 15, 1935. He went to Australia as an LDS missionary, and lived and died loving the Restored Gospel. He spent his life raising his children with Myrna across Western Canada, living in Inuvik, Lethbridge, Coutts, Drumheller, Raymond, and working as a welder, Dept. National Defense bus driver, grocer, restaurateur, prison guard, taxi driver, and salesman of FullerBrush, New York life insurance, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and monuments.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, June 8, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – TAYLOR ST. CHAPEL (221 N 400 W, Raymond, AB). Friends may meet family at the church prior to the service from 11:30am – 12:45pm.

CROSS CHILD

THERESA MARY (LOW HORN) CROSS CHILD (Iitsaaki’tsipiim – Last to Come In) was called home to the Creator, surrounded by family at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at the age of 71 years. Theresa was born on August 9, 1946 at the Blood Indian Hospital to the Late Jim Sr. and Mary-Rose Low Horn. Theresa is predeceased by her husband Pat Cross Child Sr. and daughter Sally Cross Child; grandson Luke Cross Child; Siblings Elizabeth, Robert, Adrian, Virginia, Patrick, Paul, James, Edward; nephew Edward Thomas Holy Singer Jr.; and in laws Agnes (Lizzie) Standing Alone (John Red Crane) and Billy Crosschild. Theresa is survived by her children Patrick (Tanya) Crosschild, Wes (Michelle) Cross Child, Sharon (Jay) Bad Eagle, Jay (Tawny) Cross Child; five grandchildren whom she raised, Dwight, Mason, Sheree, Wylie and Brennon, as well as her adopted daughters; Patricia Crow Child & Isabelle. Theresa is also survived by her adopted daughters; Patricia & Isabelle. Siblings; Roselynn (Thomas) Holy Singer, Rose-Mary (Henry) Low Horn & Dale (Sylvia) Low Horn. She will also be lovingly remembered by her 32 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews. Extended family including Hairy Bulls, Crying Heads, Fox, Born with a Tooth, English, Crow Eagle, Crow Shoe, Weaselhead, Heavy Runner, Young Pine, Eagle Plume, Long Time Squirrels, Three Suns, Wolf Childs and Morning Owls. Theresa attended St. Mary’s Indian Residential School on the Blood Reserve where she developed a passion for sports. As a young woman, Theresa was a great athlete, playing baseball and volleyball, and she also had a passion for barrel racing. Theresa had a strong resolve to always stay active and mobile; she carried this determined attitude throughout her life and this brought her on many adventures, including her travels to: Europe, Jerusalem, Montreal, Mexico, Lac St. Anne and many other holy sites with her traveling partner Adeline Young Pine. One of her highlight trips was to the I.N.F.R. in Vegas. Theresa was a devout Christian and dedicated her life to the teachings of the Catholic Church. She was one of the first from the Blood Reserve to make her Cursillo in June 1983 in Browning, Montana. She was a strong woman of faith and maintained her connection to the Church through her community service. She travelled yearly to Lac St. Anne for pilgrimages and attended many retreats at the St. Martha’s Retreat Centre in Lethbridge. Theresa understood the importance of community and stayed involved by attending bingos, pow wows, and community gatherings. In her later years, she became an active and committed member to the Kainai Elders Group and Marriage Encounters. Theresa understood the value and importance of helping others and was a source of comfort for many. Her kind and caring nature led her to a long career as an addictions counsellor at St. Paul’s Treatment Centre and Fort Macleod Detox Centre. Theresa is fondly remembered as a strong community member and role model. She will be deeply missed. She emulated nothing but pure love, kindness, humbleness and most of all faith.

A Family Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 5:00 P.M.

Wakes Services will be held at SENATOR GLADSTONE HALL, Blood Reserve from 7:00 P.M. – 10:00 P.M. and continuing on at her home.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. MARY’S IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, Standoff, AB on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Pawel Andrasz O.M.I., Celebrant.

Interment to follow in the Blood Band Cemetery.

Clauss Driedger
1962 – 2018
Clauss Philip Driedger, beloved husband of Jackie Driedger of Taber, passed away peacefully at the St. Michael’s Palliative Care on Monday, June 4, 2018 at the age of 56 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 – 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, June 7, 2018 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.

Besides Jackie, his loving wife of thirty five years, Clauss is survived by their children Crystal (Terry) Tutak of Lethbridge and their children Ethen and Connor; Mandi Driedger (Samantha Barr) of Taber. He is also survived by his mother Mary Driedger, nine brothers, five sisters and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Clauss was predeceased by his father John N. Driedger, brother Frederick Driedger and niece Brooklyn Rewega.
Clauss was born at home in LaCrete, Alberta on April 17, 1962 to John and Mary Driedger. He left LaCrete in 1978 coming to Taber and worked various jobs, always giving his very best effort in whatever he did. Clauss’ grandson’s were the highlight of his life and he loved spending time with them. He also really enjoyed woodworking, cooking, camping, fishing, making and smoking sausage and loved his job operating in the oilfield. Highlights for Clauss were also going to Phoenix as well as watching baseball and hockey.

TRIPP

Hilda Marie Tripp (nee Joyce) November 9, 1940 – April 21, 2018. Hilda passed away suddenly at Chinook Regional Hospital on April 21, 2018. She was predeceased by her husband Bruce and will be sadly missed by her daughter Kim (Ed) Horak and her two precious granddaughters Michaela and Kiara. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Bill and Herberta, her 4 brothers and 2 sisters as well as 2 brothers in law 3 sisters in law. She is survived by 2 sisters in law as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME – 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Glenda Wert officiating.

Following the Celebration of Life, a reception will follow at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Hilda will be laid to rest at the Archmount Cemetery following the reception.
