Kenneth Ronald Coutts

Kenneth Coutts of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Dorothy Coutts. Passed away suddenly on 8 June 2018 at the age of 86 years.

Ken was born in Lethbridge on 22 September 1931 to parents Charles and Mary Coutts. He went to primary school in Lethbridge before the family relocating to Vancouver BC due to health concerns of his father. At he age of 19, Ken enlisted in the Canadian Military and was first posted to Shilo Manitoba. He would ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle back and forth from Shilo.

Ken has led a full and interesting life. He is a Korean War Veteran. During the 26 years of loyal service to Canada, Ken has been posted to some interesting places such as Washington DC and CFS Fort Churchill Manitoba. He retired from the Military in 1975 at Victoria BC.

After a brief stay in Winfield BC, Ken moved to Saskatoon to work for the School Board. After 36 years he moved back to Lethbridge until his passing.

He is a member in good standing with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4.

Ken is survived by a daughter, Nancy (Wayne) Boone of Conception Bay Newfoundland and a son Colin (Mary) Coutts of Lethbridge. One granddaughter Amanda (Matthew) Parsons and two great grandchildren Ryan and Sadie Parsons.

Also survived by a sister Elaine (Keith) Robertson of Prince George BC. Ken was pre-deceased by his parents and 4 brothers.

MARGUERITE “MARGE” ROSE GARNER (formerly Derksen, née Turski), wife of Royston Garner of Lethbridge, fought but lost her brave battle against cancer at the St. Michael’s Health Centre on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at the age of 78 years.
