1984 – 2018
It is with great sadness the family of Chad Jason Feist announce his passing in Nanaimo, British Columbia on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the age of 33 years.

Laraine G. Hall

passed away peacefully on September 9, 2018 after a brief battle with cancer. Laraine will be lovingly remembered by her children Tammy (Brad) Glen, Trena (Brent) Copland; grandchildren Colton (Jessica), Chelby, Drayden (Kelly), Kori, Trevor, Megan, Jessie; great grandchildren Tori Lynn, Caylee, Lyam and Cayden; daughter-in-law Kandus Hall, and the father of her children Monte Hall, brother Shane (Elodie) Rodeback, sister Becky (Bruce) Prince, as well as many special nieces, and nephews, relatives and friends. Laraine was predeceased by her son’s Tory and Trevor, brother Greg and friend Doug Murfin. Laraine was born in Raymond where she received her education. In 1977 she moved to Pincher Creek which quickly became her forever home. Laraine’s favourite quote “I love people, I love my family and I love my grandchildren very much”. A Celebration of Laraine’s life will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at the Vertical Church, 1200 Ken Thornton, Pincher Creek, AB. Ruth Holthe
1920 – 2018
Ruth Holthe, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away unexpectedly in Lethbridge on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 two weeks short of her 98th birthday.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 – 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, September 21, 2018 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at Knox United Church, 4929 – 50 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden. Condolences may be forwarded by visiting our website at http://www.southlandfuneral.com.
Ruth will be dearly missed by her children Brian (Michelle) Holthe of Taber and their sons Brett (Rachel), Mark, Ty and Chase; Leroy (Val) Holthe of Taber and their children Tanner and Lindy; Connie (Dan) Kilborn of High River and their daughter Kelsey (Chris); daughter-in-law Sheryl Holthe “Gramma Root” was adored by her great grandchildren Emily, Ryder, Rylee and Frankie.
She was predeceased by her husband Norman Holthe; son Ron Holthe; parents Albert and Elizabeth Treece; sisters Daisy (Elwood) Nevil and Jessie Jensen.
Ruth was born at Purple Springs, daughter of Albert and Elizabeth Treece. When Ruth was a few days old her mother passed away. She was raised for the first three years by her aunt and uncle Pete and Nellie Engleson. At the age of three she went to live with her dad and two sisters, Daisy and Jessie.
All her schooling was taken at the Purple Springs School. She went out to work for families at an early age. While working she met and married Norman Holthe in 1942. After spending a year in Vancouver and working here and there, they settled on a farm near Taber. She worked at the Cannery, Sparky’s Dairy Bar and Taber Cleaners all the while raising her family and working on the farm.
Ruth loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. In her later years she loved playing cards, reading, doing puzzles and was still bowling. She was especially proud of renewing her driver’s licence that would allow her to drive to the age of 100. Ruth was devout and loved worshiping with her church family. She practiced diligently and could name all sixty six books of the bible from memory.

Jesus Lagunas

1944 – 2018

Jesus Isidro Lagunas of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Ana Maria Lagunas passed away at St. Michael’s Health Centre on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the age of 74 years.

Jesus was born to Esteban & Encarnacion Lagunas on May 15, 1944 in Madrid, Spain. He spent his childhood in Spain, receiving much of his education there. He married Ana Ramirez in 1969 and together they had three children. In 1979 Jesus came to Canada to visit, deciding very shortly after to immigrate in 1980, settling in Elkford B.C. He began working at Fording River Operations as a Master Electrician in 1980 and remained there until his retirement in 2006. In 2005 Jesus and Ana moved to Lethbridge and Jesus filled his days puttering around the garden, playing chess, adding to his stamp collection or just simply spending time with his grandchildren. It was often thought that Jesus was the “eighth” grandchild. He loved travelling, especially his trips back home to Spain, his last trip was in 2017. He was a proud member & past treasurer of the United Steel Workers Union Local 7884, being a strong member for his entire career. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Besides his beloved wife Ana, Jesus is survived by his two daughters Ana Luisa (Robert) Bohn, of Elkford, B.C and their children Jessica and Justin, Maria Almudena Bleile (Quinton Pancoast) of Medicine Hat, AB and her daughter Danika; son Jesus Lagunas (Carrie Demaere) of Fort McMurray, AB and their children Ana Maria, Sebastian, Angelina and Antonio; one sister Pilar Lagunas of Spain.

Jesus was predeceased by his father Esteban, mother Encarnacion, and his three brothers, Esteban, Juan and Antonio.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30AM on Friday, September 21, 2018 at ST. MARTHA’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 355 Columbia Blvd. West, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Father William Monis, celebrant. Cremation to follow the service.

MARIA ELIZABETH RATKAI, beloved partner of Frank Malesan, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Friday, September 14, 2018 at the age of 68 years.
