DUDAS

JOHN DUDAS, beloved husband of Olga Dudas, passed away suddenly at home on Friday, September 21, 2018 at the age of 66 years.

Besides his loving wife of 43 years, Olga, John is survived by his daughter Kristy Lauzon (Jeremy) and his grandchildren Owen & Sydney, who were the light of his world. He is also remembered by his sister Elizabeth (John) Unger; brothers Steve Sr. (Ellie), Sandor Sr. (Irene) and Bill (Brenda) Dudas, all of Lethbridge and Zoltan (Malvin) of Nyirkarasz, Hungary, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

John was predeceased by his son, Michael Dudas, parents George and Elizabeth Dudas, sisters Martha Allen and Margaret Fekete (Nyirkarasz, Hungary), brother Illes Dudas (Nyirkarasz, Hungary) and many other in-laws.

John started his trades career working for Derochie Painting in 1980 and valued the many friendships he made with colleagues and clients over the years. He took great pride in his workmanship and remained loyal to this company until the day he passed away.

John was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer six years ago and was a warrior in his battle, earning the nickname, “Bionic Man”. We are grateful to Drs. Brigden, Shukkoor and C. Walsh along with the nurses at the Jack Ady Cancer Centre and his doctors in Calgary for their compassionate and skilled care in prolonging our precious time with him.

John will be remembered by his family and friends for his quick wit, sarcastic humour and the strength and courage he demonstrated to the end of his journey. He will be deeply missed.

A Prayer Service will be held at ST. BASIL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604-13th Street North, Lethbridge, AB, on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. with Sharon Hagel officiating.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. BASIL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Kevin Tumback celebrating.

Following the Mass, John will be laid to rest in Mountain View Cemetery.

HEWKO

WALTER HEWKO, beloved husband of Isabel Hewko, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at St. Therese Villa, on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at the age of 85 years.

Besides his loving wife, Isabel, Walter is survived by his children, Jim (Carolyn), Debbie (Don) and Phil (Diane); six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; his brother Paul, sister Sonia and numerous nieces and nephews.

Walter was born in Sarrail, AB, on December 26, 1932. He was the first to graduate from high school in his family and continued his education to complete a degree in business administration while working at the provincial courthouse in Edmonton. He enjoyed his work first as a bailiff and clerk of the court, then as sheriff for the Province of Alberta in Grande Prairie, AB, and Lethbridge, AB. One of his achievements was to oversee the building of the Lethbridge Courthouse which was completed in 1983. He ended his career with the province as the District Court Administrator for Southern Alberta. When he was not working and in his retirement, Walter enjoyed curling, golfing, playing cards, telling stories and getting together with family and friends.

McBride

Molly Jeanine Johnson McBride, age 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Raymond, Alberta. She was born February 1, 1929 in Barnwell to Miles “Jack” and Bessie (Thomas) Johnson. She attended the University of Calgary and became a teacher, working in Thelma, Raymond and Barnwell before marrying Lawrence “Keith” McBride in July 1949. Keith and Molly lived in Sherwood Park from 1955 to 1988 during which time Molly taught at the first School. She was active in the new community and did much to support its growth. After retiring to High River and Keith’s passing in 1993, Molly moved to Barnwell. Molly was a very hard worker. While raising her family she operated the only Kindergarten in Sherwood Park for over 20 years. She prided herself on being an excellent homemaker and cook, as well as a committed member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (including callings as a Stake and Ward Relief Society President, Board Member, Counselor and Teacher). Molly had an abiding testimony of the restored gospel and knew that Jesus Christ was her Savior. She was a support for Keith, who held many leadership positions in his employment and in the church. While in Barnwell she and her sister, Nadiene Nielson, became award winning quilters – giving many of their beautiful creations away to help others. Molly had a very compassionate heart and was a friend to all who knew her. She is survived by brothers Grant and Preston (Maureen) Johnson; sister Betty (Ralph) Sabey, sisters-in-law Arta and Virginia Johnson; children Lynda (David) Pearson, Terry (Mike) Jones, Coreen McBride, Colleen (Doug) Keeler, Ross (Nikole) McBride and 22 grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, many nephews and nieces. Family, friends and others whose lives Molly touched are invited to attend her funeral on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 2:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, MAGRATH STAKE CENTRE (21 E 1st Avenue S, Magrath, Alberta). Friends may meet the family between 1:00 and 1:45 pm prior to the funeral service.

Gary Richard McClenaghan, April 2, 1944 – September 19, 2018, beloved husband of Karma, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Many will miss him including his wife, his children; Rhett (Kim), Stacey (Mike) Maynes, Tanya (Tye) Perrett, Suzette (Paul) Evert, Chad (Karla), and Todd (Ashley), 23 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and his brother Thomas McClenaghan. Mitchell Ormann

1996 – 2018

It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Mitchell Ormann on September 20, 2018 after a long battle with depression at the age of 22 years. Mitchell was a loving son and brother, who accomplished many things in his short life. A strong academic, musician and sportsman; Mitchell was valedictorian of his 2014 class and was awarded the Governor General’s Academic Medal; set a lifetime achievement of 94 Olds Rapids Swim Club records; received numerous provincial medals in sports; maintained high academic standing in Engineering at the University of Alberta and played piano with amazing grace. Mitchell shared a special bond with every family member and his friends. Mitchell is lovingly remembered by his mom Lisa, dad Todd and sister Taylor. Also left to honour Mitchell and remember his love are family: Grandpa Rudy and Grandma Jean Ormann; Grandpa Vaughan and Grandma Marilyn Hembroff; Uncle Troy and Auntie Julie Ormann and cousins Brayden and Cole Ormann; Uncle Tyson and Auntie Veronica Ormann and cousins Makenna and Hailee Ormann; Auntie Tracy Hembroff and Auntie Lou Donato; Uncle Scott Hembroff; Uncle Brad and Auntie Trudy Hembroff and cousin Nicole. Mitchell prided himself on being a good friend and was graciously supported by his friends Brian Henderson, Moona D’Souza, Coleton Harris, Ben Flanders, Cassandra Jurome, Nathan Stayer, Naanak Sodhi, Sarah Darling, Valentina Mejia, Stephen Myers, Amy Wen, Jenny Webber and Austin Waldron. Mitchell was strong and fought a courageous battle until the end. He will be fondly remembered as a “nice guy” with a big smile and always lending a helping hand. Thomas “Tom” Wardman

1951 – 2018

Mr. Thomas “Tom” Wardman of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Jo-Ann Wardman, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Centre on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at the age of 66 years. A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held at 11:00am on Friday, September 28, 2018 at the MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street S., Lethbridge, Alberta, with Reverend Eva Stanley officiating. WURZER

HERBERT ‘GRUMPY’ WURZER, beloved husband of Barb, of Coaldale, passed away at St. Michael’s Health Centre on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at the age of 76 years. He is the loving father of Herb (Tanya) – Tyler, Shelby and Payton; Quint – Brandon; and Kelly Braun – Jordan, Bailey and Chiara. He is also survived by a brother Helmut (Loreen) Wurzer, two sisters, nieces and nephews. Herb enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and spending time playing cards, games and table tennis with his family and friends. He was a hard worker, he loved his comics and music and was a collector of many things. He successfully achieved 53 years of marriage with his loving wife. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
