1923 – 2018

Mrs. Olga Block of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Lawrence Block, passed away at St. Therese Villa on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the age 95 years.

A Celebration of Olga’s Life will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at the MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta.

A Graveside Service will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.

ANNE GIBBONS, beloved wife of the late Earl Gibbons, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the age of 84 years. This marks the end of the life of a gracious, gregarious and drop dead gorgeous gal.

A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at ST. CATHERINE’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 762 Crescent Avenue, Picture Butte, AB on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Ian Gagne, Celebrant. Interment will follow the reception at Mountain View Cemetery.

Susanna Hofer

1927 – 2018

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Susanna Hofer at the age of 90.

Susanna was born in South Dakota, and passed away at Milford Colony, Raymond, Alberta on October 15, 2018. She was predeceased by her husband Michael in 1980, her daughter Dorothy, and son in law David. She leaves to mourn her daughter Susie (Paul), son Michael (Mary), 14 grandchildren; and 36 great grandchildren.

JOZSA

JOLAYNE JOZSA, beloved wife of Alexander Jozsa, of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Friday, October 12, 2018 at the age of 88 years.

Jolayne was the loving mother of two children: Cindy (Wayne) of Lethbridge and son, as well as four grandchildren and one great-grandson. Jolayne was predeceased by her parents, Steve and Elizabeth Molnar, and sisters Violet and Beatrice.

Born in Raymond, Alberta on September 8, 1930, Jolayne attended school in Barrhill. After graduation, she helped out on the family farm in the Iron Springs area. Jolayne’s first job was at the Smart Hat shop in Lethbridge, where she met her husband Alex. Alexander’s first intention was to buy a Stetson Cowboy hat, but after buying the hat, Alex decided to ask Jolayne out on a date. The couple would spend many hours talking in Henderson Lake park. After a short courtship, the couple were married on November 5, 1953 and were together for 64 years.

Jolayne spent her life in Wrentham on the family farm until the age of 85 years old. She was a magnificent cook. Her specialty was the family’s favourite dessert, her delicious chocolate cake. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and partner on the family farm. She cherished her special time with her four grandchildren. Jolayne was an active member of the Wrentham Community Church and involved herself in many church functions. Her hobbies consisted of collecting poems, crocheting, embroidery and shopping.

She will be greatly missed by her family and special pet, Angel.

A Celebration of Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Jim Chapman officiating. Interment to follow in Mountain View Cemetery.

Joe Sato
1935 – 2018
Joseph Sato, passed away in Taber on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the age of 83 years.

Joe is survived by many special friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Naokichi and Yeki Sato and his sister May and her husband Ken Tatebe.
Joe was born in Colebrook, British Columbia on June 3, 1935. In April of 1942, the Sato family settled in the Lethbridge area.
Joe started trucking in Lethbridge and continued that work in Calgary until moving back to Lethbridge in the mid 1970s where he resided until his passing.
Joe was a loyal friend to many and he loved his pets and they loved him.
Joe was a meticulous gardener, pampering his mother’s annuals and he took pride in his ferns from Ontario. His gardening competed with his passion for his cars. He was a hard working man who needed to finish the job, no matter how long it took.

It is with great sadness and gentle relief that the family of VIOLET ANN VIOLA THIELEN, neé Garrick, announces her passing after a lengthy illness, on Monday, October 8, 2018 at the age of 77 years.
