Mr. Sidney Dale Corey, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Penny Bancroft, passed away too soon at the Foothills Medical Center in Calgary, on Friday January 25, 2019 at the age of 51 years.

By request there will be a non-formal service held at a later date, and Sidney will be cremated. Flowers are respectfully declined, but if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the SPCA or Heart and Stroke Foundation.

SHARON MARGARET GIBB, beloved wife of the late Rodney Gibb, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Raymond Alberta on January 31, 2019 at the age of 64 years.

Gloria Anderson

February 1, 1942 – January 20, 2019

On January 20, 2019 Gloria Jean Anderson of Picture Butte passed away in Lethbridge, Alberta. Gloria is survived by her brother-in-law Ben of Edmonton; sister-in-law Terry of Shaughnessy; nieces Laurie (Rainer), Linda and Lisa (Brian) all of Edmonton and her nieces Paula (Marcus) and Karen (Joe) of Seattle as well as several great-nephews and nieces. Gloria was predeceased by her husband Edgar; her parents Paul and Anna Trapp; her siblings Maxine, George and Pauline and her nephew Philip. Gloria enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces as a young woman and served at several bases in Canada as well as the Canadian base in Lahr, Germany. Gloria loved animals and was “owned” by numerous dogs and cats throughout her life. Gloria was also an avid reader. Her vast collection of books covering diverse topics brought her much joy. Many thanks to Terry Finley for the many kindnesses shown to Gloria throughout the years. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00AM, on Monday, February 4, 2019, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta. HUISMAN

KENNETH DUANE HUISMAN of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Angela Huisman, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the age of 78 years, after a lengthy battle with his health complications.

Besides Angela, his wife of 36 years, he is lovingly remembered by his sons, Ken (Donna) and Randy (Darcy) and brothers, Harry Dean (Betty) and Brian (Jeri).

Ken was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Georgina Huisman.

Ken was born and raised on the family farm in Foremost, Alberta. He later moved to Monarch where he and his family continued to farm their land. Ken was a hard and dedicated worker and took great pride in whatever he did. Later in his life and into retirement, Ken enjoyed wintering in Mexico and Hawaii and traveled to the Vancouver Island shores for the spring salmon runs; he loved fishing and hunting here with his boys as well as playing crib with anyone who would take him on. You could always find Ken having a great time surrounded by those he loved along with good food and good company.

He will be dearly missed by many for his great sense of humour.

SHEPPARD

JASON WILLIAM MERLE SHEPPARD, beloved husband of Rhonda Sheppard, of Coaldale, passed away surrounded by his loving family and friends at St. Michael’s Health Centre – Palliative Care Unit on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at the age of 44 years.

Besides his loving wife, Jason is survived by his sons Braeden and Connor Sheppard and mother Louise Sheppard, all of Coaldale. He is also survived by his sisters Carlene and Cheryl Sheppard; mother and father-in-law Nancy & Ron Clarke; sister and brother-in-law Diane & Mike Thorson (Emma); and goddaughter Maisy Valgardson as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Jason was predeceased by his father Larry Sheppard, father-in-law Allan Plausteiner and grandparents.

Jason grew up in Coaldale. He married Rhonda and together raised two sons. He worked for Flooright Interiors in Lethbridge. He loved spending time with friends and making new ones wherever he went. His greatest joy in life was his family; he loved to watch his sons play hockey and baseball.

A Celebration of Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. with Michael Clarke officiating.

VALENTINSEN

LORNA “TRUDY” VALENTINSEN passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on January 29, 2019, with her children by her side. She was born November 23, 1932, in Chipman, New Brunswick. She joined the Royal Canadian Airforce in 1952 where she served proudly until 1955. After moving to Alberta she started her family.

She is survived by her children, Jimm (Lori) Valentinsen, Tracy (Richard) Jankoviak, Michael (Cindy) Valentinsen and Clifford (Fiona) Valentinsen. She was especially proud of her six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

It is with heavy hearts we sadly say goodbye to our mom and friend. She left us all with laughter in our hearts and knowing the full meaning of unconditional love. The sparkle in her eyes and her courage and strength to overcome all adversity throughout her life made her enduring to all the lives she touched. Besides her family and friends, her other loves were the Montreal Canadians, the Toronto Blue Jays, playing bingo and going to the casino.

The family extends a special thank you to the caregivers and staff of the Chinook Regional Hospital.

With the honoring of Lorna’s “Trudy’s” wishes a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

WILSON

MRS. RUTH KATHLEEN WILSON, beloved wife of the late Ian Wilson, passed away in Lethbridge on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the age of 93 years. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the North Lethbridge Stake Centre, 560 Highlands Blvd West, Lethbridge. Friends may meet with the family prior to the service at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will follow in the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond.
